I was previously at Baoyue Lou in Shanghai with my sister, and the restaurant's decor is designed to replicate the classic Cantonese style. The steamed chicken feet with lily buds were soft and gelatinous—so delicious! The supreme roasted goose intestines were amazing. It's been so long since I had them, and the rice roll was smooth and tender on the surface. I loved it. The steamed spare ribs with preserved meats rice—I initially thought it would be cooked like clay pot rice, but they didn't use the pot, so there was no crispy rice. It was just average. The salted egg yolk shrimp rice roll was delicious, with large shrimp and crispy dough sticks embedded inside. The flavor was fantastic. The poached ginger and mustard greens were perfectly blanched, and after all the dim sum, it was a great balance to have some veggies.
