Jilin Trip (Jilin Confucius Temple)
Depart from Changchun and drive along the Hunchun-Ulanhot Expressway for 2 hours to reach Jilin City, which is known as "welcoming Changbai from afar and circling Songhua nearby". Today, we are going to visit Jilin Confucius Temple, one of the four major Confucius temples in China.
Jilin Confucius Temple is located at Jixi Hutong and Wenmiao Hutong. There is a parking lot in front of the temple, and there are many antique shops in the hutong. The temple was built to commemorate Confucius, an ancient Chinese thinker, politician, educator, and founder of Confucianism. It is an ancient architectural complex with oriental architectural features. The main entrance of the temple is the south gate, which is closed. You can enter from the west gate for free. The entire architectural complex is mainly composed of Zhuangyuan Bridge, Lingxing Gate, Dacheng Gate, Dacheng Hall, and Chongsheng Hall, forming three courtyards. It is said that the main building has been repaired for many years, and it is still closed by a fence, but it is not repaired. The buildings on both sides are equipped with Confucius's life, as well as some cultural and ancient musical instrument displays. A group of children are on a study tour under the guidance of their teacher.
After leaving the Confucius Temple, walk 800 meters to a Catholic church by the Songhua River. The church is a brick and stone Gothic building. There is a sign in front of the door that says "closed for maintenance", so I can only take a photo to commemorate it. It's still early, so I find my way to Beishan Park. Beishan Park is a park where locals relax and play. It integrates mountains, water, and temples. Today is April 13, and the willow branches in the north have begun to sprout. It's the weekend, so there are many tourists. Beishan has nine peaks, known as Jiulong Mountain. It is said to be the "place where the dragon rises" in the Qing Dynasty. When you come to Jilin, you must go to get some dragon energy. With the dragon energy, I will go home tomorrow.

Jilin Confucian Temple
The existing Jilin City Confucian Temple was completed in the first year of Xuantong (1909), and the entire architectural complex is solemn and majestic, with a full royal aura. Today's Jilin Confucian Temple, along with Nanjing Fuzi Temple, Qufu Confucius Temple in Shandong, and Beijing Confucius Temple, is known as one of the 'Four Great Confucian Temples in China,' mainly displaying the regulations, rituals, ritual vessels, and ancient architectural art of Confucian temples.
Its predecessor, the Yongji State Confucian Temple, was located where the First Experimental Primary School of Jilin City is today. The Confucian Temple was established by the imperial decree of Emperor Qianlong, and it was completed in the seventh year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1742). Afterward, the trend of running schools became increasingly popular, paving the way for Manchu and Han students to study and seek official positions, which led to the rapid spread of Confucian culture and promoted the development of politics, economy, and culture in the Guandong region.
Inside the Dacheng Hall, there are statues of Confucius, the Four Sages, and the Twelve Philosophers, as well as various sacrificial vessels and musical instruments. The main hall is a double-eaved Xieshan style building, with a width of 11 bays (40 meters), a depth of 25 meters, and a height of 20 meters.
Jilin Confucian Temple is free to visit. It was closed before the New Year for facility maintenance, and today, some areas are still under construction.
With nothing particular to do, taking a stroll and looking around, it can be considered a pure land in the midst of the bustling city.

Apart from rime, white snow and red walls are the perfect match
Jilin Confucius Temple, built in the first year of Qianlong (1736), is known as one of the four major Confucius Temples in China, along with Nanjing Confucius Temple, Qufu Confucius Temple, and Beijing Confucius Temple. Jilin Confucius Temple is a group of classical architectural complexes with oriental architectural characteristics, and its architecture imitates the imperial palace.
⭕️I have always wanted to take pictures of ancient buildings with red walls like the Forbidden City. The Confucius Temple is the only building in Jilin that I can find with red walls. The Confucius Temple after the snow looks quite impressive, very suitable for taking pictures and checking in. Taking a set of ancient style portraits should also be good.
Welcome to Jilin for travel, in addition to watching rime, you can also visit the Confucius Temple.
