Taichung 📍Hidden Japanese scenic spots! Wuqi Cultural Branch Office, retro architecture + mysterious air-raid shelter adventure, and delicious ice cream🍦
Wuqi Cultural Branch is located in Wuqi District, Taichung City. It is a Japanese-style building full of historical atmosphere. It was originally an administrative agency during the Japanese colonial period and has now been converted into a cultural exhibition and tourism space. The original wooden structure is preserved here, and the courtyard landscaping is matched, making it suitable for people who like Japanese style to visit and take photos.
There was almost no one there when I first arrived, so I thought I could take some leisurely photos. However, a few minutes later, a busload of tour groups came in and the place was instantly packed with people. Tourists who want to take photos are advised to arrive on weekdays or early in the morning.
The old building is well maintained and full of a strong sense of history and Japanese atmosphere, suitable for people who like antique style. Although the area is not large, you can still feel the style of the past when you stroll through it.

Taichung One-Day Tour: Creative Experiences Around CMP Greenway
When I visit Taichung, I especially enjoy staying near CMP Greenway, where I can easily stroll around and explore small shops. Heading south along the street, you'll find many charming creative shops, such as 'Green Light + marüte,' which hosts small exhibitions periodically, and 'WASHIDA HOME STORE,' which combines modern design with traditional craftsmanship. On the way to Audit Village, I always make sure to visit my favorite antique store, 'Reborn Antique.' Stepping into Reborn Antique feels like traveling through time, with each carefully selected item bearing historical traces and adding a unique warmth and charm to modern life.
Entering Audit Village feels like stepping into a space where history and modernity, creativity and tradition resonate together. Originally a testament to administrative management, it has now transformed into a vibrant cultural and creative park, hosting art exhibitions, creative markets, and various cultural activities every weekend. It's really fun.
Even just slowly walking along these streets, you can constantly discover delightful little corners. If you have the chance, definitely visit Taichung to slowly experience the city's diverse charm!

Taiwan's largest national historic monument complex.
📍Address: No. 91, Laiyuan Road, Wufeng District, Taichung City, Taiwan
🕰️Business Hours: 08:30 to 17:00
🏖️Environment/Facilities: The school's back garden
💰Average Cost: 30 TWD per person
The facility is located within the Ming Tai campus, making it a unique location. In the last century, after a famous member of the Lin family passed the imperial examination, he renovated the garden on a large scale to show gratitude to his mother, Madam Luo, for raising him. He named it 'Laiyuan' after the story of Lao Lai Zi entertaining his parents with colorful clothes. The architecture is a harmonious blend of Chinese and Western styles, and the pond and surrounding landscaping are beautiful. It is one of the attractions of the Wufeng Lin Family Mansion and Garden. If you are driving, you can park your vehicle for free inside the campus. It is worth visiting, although the park is not very large and can be toured quickly. You can also plan to spend half a day visiting other related attractions.

If you want to experience local history and culture, you can visit Taichung Railway Station or the Literature Museum.
Plum Blossom Appreciation at Wuling Farm
#2024Travel Review
Wuling Farm has different beauty all year round. The weather is good and the sunshine is actually very comfortable and not cold. It is about 12 degrees Celsius at night and up to 5 degrees Celsius in the early morning. It should be 22 degrees when the sun comes out during the day. It’s really hot under direct sunlight! But it will be really cold if you are not exposed to the sun!
January is a good season for plum blossom viewing. The air in the mountains is good. You can smell the fragrance of plum blossoms when the wind blows. Absorbing the phytoncides from the mountains will really make you feel relaxed and happy. The entire hinterland of Wuling Farm is very vast, and you can enjoy different scenery in different areas. You can also feed geese in Zhongzheng Pond next to the administrative center of Wuling Farm and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Absolutely stunning opera house~ A great place for photography and strolling~.
I have to say, when I arrived here,

The unique architectural design,
with its smooth curves both inside and out, without any sharp 'corners',
all the photos above are from the free areas.
