Xiamen is beautiful, but I don’t want to come next time
An average of 20,000 steps a day, my legs are worn out! The traffic in Xiamen during the May Day holiday is a disaster. There is no subway along the coastal line. It takes more than 1 hour to take a taxi or a bus in a traffic jam of six or seven stations. There are few shared bicycles and it is difficult to return them. Basically, you have to rely on your own two feet to get to every place. Cycling around the island is also a waste of time.
Blue sky, blue sea, golden sand beach and orange sea sunset are the established impressions of Xiamen and also the long-cherished vision. Before we went, we checked the weather forecast almost every day. Although it was cloudy and rainy during the May Day holiday, we were advised not to go, but I was stubborn and didn’t listen! Fortunately, it only rained on the last day we went to Gulangyu Island, but it stopped after a while. Xiamen is really beautiful on a sunny day! There are so many people that you have to queue up to take photos and check in (and it’s quite orderly). The only regret is that I didn’t see the orange sky in Xiamen for a few days.
I hope the following tips can help you.
🌲Botanical Garden: For the shuttle bus in the park, don’t buy a pass during holidays!!! Because you can’t wait for the bus at all, and the queuing time is wasted!
Bell and Drum Cableway: If you don't make an online reservation, you can go directly to the offline store! The staff will ask you to scan the code → constantly refresh the remaining tickets, it's easy to grab
Citywalk: After walking, I found that there are two options. You can take the subway to Zhongshan Park Station and exit at Exit 3A; the express line can take you to Ershi Station, which is very close to the "Xiamen is Good" check-in wall and the flower and bird market;
Tan Kah Kee Park: near the sea, great for taking photos! But be careful of 🐭;
