The new museum was completed and opened to the public for free in June 2013. It is located in the central area of Jiading District, adjacent to Qiuxia Garden, with a beautiful environment like a Jiangnan garden. It is affiliated with the Jiading Confucian Temple, a national key cultural relic protection unit, the Fahua Pagoda, a Shanghai cultural relic protection unit, and the Jiading Bamboo Carving Museum. The new museum adopts a double-garden two-story (partially three-story) layout design, divided into two parts: modern function and traditional garden, covering an area of 6,705 square meters, with a total construction area of about 9,608 square meters. Jiading Museum is also affiliated with the Jiading Confucian Temple, a national key cultural relic protection unit, the Fahua Pagoda, a Shanghai cultural relic protection unit, and the Jiading Bamboo Carving Museum.

Before coming here, I didn't notice that there were other attractions to visit nearby. Later when I planned my trip, I would carefully check the areas near the attractions I wanted to visit. There are also Zhouqiao Old Street (Fahua Pagoda), Jiading Confucius Temple, Huilongtan Park, China Imperial Examination Museum, and Jiading Wisteria Garden nearby. If you have enough time, you can plan a day here. After all, there is no subway in this area. I got off at Exit 1 of Jiading North on Line 11 and took a taxi here. You can enter the museum directly from Qiuxiapu (you can only enter but not exit). The security guard was very friendly and enthusiastic. He came over and told me that many people take pictures from this angle and I could take pictures of the scenery in this picture. However, I would be backlit when using a selfie stick, but I still took several pictures according to the security guard's recommendation. The museum has air conditioning! Jiading County originated during the Jiading era of the Southern Song Dynasty, and historical excellent buildings such as Fahua Temple and the Jiading Confucian Temple on Jiading Old Street. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, Jiading was also a region that produced cotton and rice, contributing to the glory of the bureaucratic merchants and the textile industry of the old Shanghai urban area. Jiading is an old district of Shanghai's satellite city, and Jiading City is worth a deep tour. This time I stayed in Jiading for a few nights and carefully visited every corner. The original intention of this day was to visit Qiuxiapu, a Jiangnan-style garden, where the willows are green and the flowers are red in early summer, a quiet place. Unexpectedly, I came to an entrance and found that the park was connected to the Jiading Museum. I could enter the museum for a visit along a long corridor. The museum is very humane, although it only allows entry and not exit, but it has already provided great convenience. For me, it really didn't take any effort. I watched in the museum for most of the day and gained a lot. For our generation, we are quite familiar with the changes in Jiading after the founding of the People's Republic of China, especially the changes in Jiading as Shanghai's forefront of reform and opening up are obvious to all. I have always had a good impression of Jiading, it is not as bustling as the city, and it has a unique quietness, it is really a livable place.

The Jiading Museum, which is separated by a wall from the Autumn Glow Garden, is very worth seeing. Inside, there are not only calligraphy and painting works by famous artists from all ages, but also thousands of years of unearthed cultural relics, showing the profound cultural history of Jiading. Looking at the Autumn Glow Garden across the small river from the Jiading Museum is also very pleasing to the eye. The pavilions, towers, and flowers and trees are all reflected on the calm and mirror-like water surface, which is very photogenic!

I personally like Zhouqiao Old Street in Jiading Old Town. It has the flavor of an old town, with the architectural style of "street in front and river behind" from the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, as well as the atmosphere of fireworks. There are Fahua Pagoda, Confucius Temple, Jiading Museum, and Qiuxia Garden across the street. ❤Recommendation reason: Fahua Pagoda: It was first built in the Southern Song Dynasty, more than 800 years ago. It is a seven-story square pavilion-style pagoda with a wooden ladder inside. Cultural relics from underground palaces during the Yuan and Ming dynasties have been unearthed. Recently there will be an exhibition of underground palace cultural relics from the Yuan and Ming dynasties of the Fahua Pagoda, as well as an introduction to the history of the Fahua Pagoda. You can take a look at it if you have time. Next to it are the Gu Weijun Exhibition Room and the Hu Juewen Exhibition Room, which display the life stories of these two famous people from Jiading. Bamboo Carving Museum: Introduces bamboo carving relief techniques, some of which are so beautiful! There are some embroidery, jade carvings, bamboo weaving and other crafts on the second floor. Walking along the river, the exterior walls of several teahouses were covered with ivy, which sparkled brightly in the afterglow of the setting sun. Jiading Museum: The architecture of the museum itself is quite beautiful, with rockery, pavilions, corridors, etc. in the backyard. I didn’t go to Qiuxiapu, but I recommend it to those who have time. Confucius Temple: Starting from May 22, 2023, the Jiading Confucius Temple will be closed for an overall renovation lasting about 7 months. Don't run away!
