Mount Jiuhua pays homage to the world's largest Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva
Mount Jiuhua Scenic Area, located in Qingyang County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province, is one of the first batch of national key scenic spots, a national 5A-level tourist area, a national model of civilized scenic tourism area, and one of the first batch of national natural and cultural heritage sites. Mount Jiuhua has 99 peaks, and the Ksitigarbha King lived to be 99 years old. The bronze statue, including the lotus pedestal, is 99 meters high, symbolizing the unity of nine nines. Mount Jiuhua has flowers in spring, the moon in autumn, cool breezes in summer, and snow in winter. Its peaks, along with Mount Wutai in Shanxi, Mount Putuo in Zhejiang, and Mount Emei in Sichuan, are known as the four famous Buddhist mountains in China.
