#2024wish This is on the east end of the island along with the Jogashima Lighthouse on the west end are referred to as the “lighthouses in love.” Many couples visit this spot because it’s lucky for love. The Awasaki Lighthouse is 16-meters high and was constructed in 2020 with a motif of Miura Radish (famous local brand of agricultural product). The unique shape and the white and green gradations reminded us of radish and made a great contrast against green-grass field in the park. I want to travel to Jogashima Island again.

This time, I used the Misaki Maguro Ticket, a discount ticket for Keihin Kyuko, to have lunch at Nakamuraya in Jogashima. There were table seats and tatami rooms inside the restaurant, but even on weekdays the seats were full and there was a line depending on the time of day. This time, I had a seafood bowl with the Misaki Maguro Ticket. It was very voluminous and the tuna was fresh. There was also alcohol, and the beer and seafood went perfectly together. And the Miura Peninsula is also a popular spot for Kawazu cherry blossoms. Jogashima Bridge is located at the southern end of the Miura Peninsula, and is a steel box girder-style bridge with a length of 575 meters and a height of 23.5 meters over the Straits of the Miura Peninsula and Jogashima. Under the bridge, large ships of tuna deep-sea fishing at Misaki Port come and go, so there is a long bridge pier space of 95 meters in the center of the bridge. Steel box girders are adopted because it is necessary to reduce the weight of this central part. This center is vividly colored red. There is almost no land higher than the bridge around the bridge, so you can see a wide range of scenery. At a short time before sunrise, the fantastic scenery that only the white peaks of the mountains of Tanzawa shine in the morning sun can be seen from the Jogashima Ohashi Bridge, and it is a scene I would like to see if I have the opportunity. It's just a little over an hour by train from the city center. Perfect for a short weekend day trip! Fun to ride! Delicious to eat! We went on a trip with our preschooler to Jogashima on the Miura Peninsula. A round-trip train ticket (you can get off at any stop along the way!) + Maguro Manpuku Ticket + Omohide Ticket for activities is a set that costs 3,750 yen per adult (weekday price), but I heard that you can get a great deal for 2,630 yen (weekday price) by using the currently available [Kanagawa Railway Discount], so I tried it 👀 I immediately used the "Omohide Ticket" on the [KEIKYU OPEN TOP BUS]! My child loves trains, and from the nearest Keikyu terminal station, Misakiguchi Station, there was a bus modeled after Keikyu's mascot character "Keikyu-kun," and we were lucky to be able to ride in the front row! If you take the bus from Misakiguchi, you will be in a long line, but it is worth it just to be able to sit down with a guaranteed seat🥺✨ My kids were happy just because the bus was designed like a Keikyu train, but since we had a guide, we arrived at Jogashima in no time while listening to a very educational story during the 30 minutes of the ride, saying things like "Wow" and "Oh, I see!" At Jogashima, we had a carefully selected tuna bowl with Shonan whitebait at [Iso Ryori Kanea]♡ The staff at the restaurant were very kind and gave our kids a great service🙇♀️ It gets crowded on weekends and holidays, so I recommend going there as soon as you arrive at Jogashima by bus. Kainan Shrine in Jogashima. The shrine is located at the top of some steep stone steps. There is no one stationed there, and the grounds are not large, so it feels quite quiet. However, if you look back, you can see the ocean below you, as it is on high ground! Documents from the mid-Meiji period state that this shrine is a branch shrine of Kainan Shrine in Misaki.
