Jeonju Hyanggyo is located in Gyodong, Wansan District, Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do. According to legend, Jeonju Hyanggyo was built in the late Goryeo period and was located near the present Gyeonggijeon. In the Joseon Dynasty, Gyeonggijeon was built to house the portrait of Taejo Lee Sung-gyeom. In 1410, the Heunggyo was very noisy because of the noise before the game, so it was moved to the current volcano cave under the Hwanghwa Terrace in 6 or 7-ri in the west of Jeonju.
