Rating: A well-known restaurant on the street behind Lotte Department Store in Busan, specializing in Jeju's specialty abalone porridge. There is a Chinese menu for easy ordering. It's perfect for a local breakfast in the morning.
When we arrived at 10am, there was already a long queue and we had to wait for about 30 minutes. Although the table turnover is fast, the meals are cooked to order. Most of the time was spent waiting for the meal to be prepared.
Abalone porridge (small) 12,000 won
Slices of fresh abalone meat, mashed innards, rice and broth are cooked into porridge. The taste is very smooth, with the saltiness of the sea and the sweetness of shellfish. It is very suitable as a breakfast meal when paired with side dishes.
Grilled Tilefish (Small) 12,000 KRW
This grilled fish requires patience, the skin is grilled very crispy. The fish meat is tender and sweet. It is also delicious with abalone porridge.
Raw abalone (small) 33,000 won
It is abalone sashimi, the texture is very crispy and not chewy. The taste is very light. It basically has no flavor except for the texture and needs to be eaten with soy sauce.
Like most popular Korean restaurants, the most delicious and cost-effective thing is the various side dishes that the store provides free refills. It is often more eye-catching than the main course.
