There is an area located right across on the left hand side of the causeway and a short 10mins walk away from the immigration custom(so that you don't need to rent a car and keep it affordable), there are abundance of cafes located here. This is mostly along the streets of Jalan Dhoby and Jalan Tan Hiok Née where you will see rows of old shophouses converted into little cafes. From just a plain white looking cafe just serving coffee and cakes to a full service cafe that serve western food and instaworthy shots too! Nice environment and good table service. We ordered a prawn soup, teriyaki salmon rice bowl, and fish n’ chips. The prawn soup taste like the har-mee broth which is quite interesting as I have never tried the soup without noodle in it! The main course we ordered was excellent. The teriyaki sauce was mixed with a little bit of sake, which pack some punch of flavor and really mix well with the rice and salmon. But for me the star of dinner is their fish n chips, or more like a fish n peas. The portion is big, the fish (barramundi fish?) is fresh, its crispy on the outside and soft inside~ the mash peas are cooked and seasoned very well, and spicy potatoes! #johorbahrutrip #thingstodo

The food was simply amazing, beautifully presented, and delicious. Although the initial service was prompt, my additional takeaway coffee took around half an hour to arrive upon leaving the cafe. It's possible they were busy due to the Easter rush. Overall, the service was decent. The prices are about average for a cafe. It is the ambience that is worth exploring. #johorjaya I recently visited IT Roo Cafe in Johor Bahru, drawn in by their claim of having the best chicken chop in town. While the dish was decent, I found it pretty ordinary and lacking the standout flavor I expected. However, the sides were impressive, especially the delicious wedges. The black pepper sauce was a nice touch and paired well with the chicken. The restaurant can get quite crowded during peak hours, but the service was fast and generally satisfactory. Price-wise, it's on the higher side compared to other places in JB. Overall, it’s a solid choice for a casual meal, but don't expect anything too extraordinary from the chicken chop.

They have been here for a long time and I have eat their food several times. You can choose from their indoor air-conditioned seats or outdoor alfresco seats. Their prices are somewhat similar to Singapore prices. For example, their famous chicken chop will cost 18.50 ringgit and you can choose black pepper or mushroom sauce. When you are at IT Roo cafe, you look on the opposite road, you will see Salahuddin Bakery. You can go over and buy their curry puffs.
