Day 6: City Strolls & Whale Tales in Reykjavík
Day 6 in Iceland was nothing short of magical! ❄️ We kicked off our morning with a hearty breakfast at Sandholt Bakery — one of Reykjavík’s oldest family-run gems 🍞☕, where tradition meets artisan creativity. Their pastries were chef’s kiss (especially the croissants!) 🥐 and the warm atmosphere made it the perfect start.
Just around the corner, I stumbled upon the cutest Polarbear Gift Store 🐻❄️ and grabbed myself an adorable Icelandic beanie 🧢 — couldn’t resist hehe! We took our time wandering down Laugavegur Street 🛍️✨, snapping photos, browsing shops, and enjoying the laid-back city vibes.
Next stop: the iconic Hallgrimskirkja Church ⛪! We took our must-have tourist pic in front of it, and even had fun swinging by the quirky little swing set nearby (Swings + church = Iceland aesthetic!) 🎠❄️
By afternoon, we were off to the Old Harbour ⚓🐋 for our much-awaited whale watching tour. For 3 hours, we cruised through icy waters, hoping to catch a glimpse of the giants of the sea — and YES, we saw them! (Absolutely surreal!) 🌊❤️
Dinner was warm and cozy at Íslenski Barinn 🍽️ — their fish & chips 🐟🍟 and slow-cooked lamb shank 🍖 were heavenly! We ended the night with a walk down the vibrant Rainbow Street 🌈, followed by sweet treats at Eldur og Ís 🍨🥞 — ice cream and crêpes that warmed both heart and soul.
Reykjavík, you were full of surprises today!
