Kayaking on the Adriatic Sea: Enjoy Movie-like Scenery
Dubrovnik, located on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, is renowned for its magnificent ancient city walls and crystal-clear waters. Kayaking is an excellent way to explore this city and its surrounding natural beauty. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced paddler, you will find activities suitable for you here.
While kayaking in Dubrovnik, you will have the opportunity to admire the spectacular coastline, ancient city walls, and hidden bays and caves. Especially when paddling to Lokrum Island and Betina Cave, the natural scenery is breathtaking. The view on the sea at sunset is particularly stunning, making it hard to leave.
Kayaking activities in Dubrovnik are suitable for participants of all skill levels. Most guided tours provide basic safety and paddling technique instruction, so even beginners can easily get started. For experienced paddlers, there are more challenging routes to explore more hidden bays and caves.
The best season for kayaking is from spring to autumn, especially between May and October. During this time, the weather is warm, and the sea is clear, making it perfect for outdoor activities. Sunset paddling tours in the summer are particularly popular, as you can enjoy the beautiful sea views in the cool evening.
The price of kayaking varies depending on the length and content of the tour. Generally, a 2 to 3-hour guided tour costs around 40 to 50 euros, including paddling equipment, guide services, and some snacks. If you choose a longer tour or one that includes more activities, the price will increase accordingly.

Dubrovnik, Croatia - Picturesque Sea Views
Dubrovnik is a coastal city in Croatia, known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant sea views. As one of the oldest cities in Croatia, Dubrovnik boasts unique traditional cuisine. The traditional Slavic culture in the area is influenced by Italian, Greek, and other coastal cultures, making this seaside city culturally unique.
To enjoy the city's scenery and the beautiful sea, the best way is to walk along the ancient city walls. This 2-kilometer-long wall offers breathtaking views. If you wish to venture out to sea, I highly recommend Lokrum Island, a nearby island with lush greenery, botanical gardens, and peacocks. From there, you can also look back at the old town area and admire its magnificent views from a distance.

[Dubrovnik] Free tour of the old town, must-see attractions!
🗓️Itinerary:
1. Dubrovnik Old Town
📍Address: Dubrovnik Old Town
💰Per capita consumption: free
💞Recommended reason: The old town is really like a time machine traveling back to the Middle Ages. Walking on those stone-paved paths, surrounded by old churches and historic buildings, it feels like every stone is telling a story. At dusk, the city walls turn golden, it’s so beautiful!
(Picture 3 is the same check-in spot from the American TV series Game of Thrones. Friends who love watching TV dramas should not miss this place.)
Must Go: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2. Srđ Mountain
📍Address: The top of the mountain can be reached via Dubrovnik’s cable car
💰Per capita consumption: 15 euros one way. If you buy tickets at the store under the castle, there is a 2 euro service fee. It is recommended to go to the cable car ticket office to waive the handling fee.
💞Reason for recommendation: Take the cable car up the mountain, the scenery is simply amazing! The view from the top of the mountain is great, with a view of the entire old city and the boundless sea. Especially at sunset, the whole sky seemed to be on fire, and I didn't want to leave. I took countless photos, but I feel like I can’t fully capture the beauty.
You can walk down the mountain or take a cable car back
Must Go: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
3. Lokrum Island
📍Address: Reachable by boat from the Old City Port
💞Reason for recommendation: The sea water on the island is so clear that I couldn’t help but jump in and swim for a while. In addition to the beautiful beaches, the small lake on the island is also a surprise. The water is super clear and it feels great to swim. The entire island is full of adventure, perfect for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
Must Go: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Game of Thrones’ Island - LOKRUM
Located 10 minutes away from Dubrovnik, the island of Lokrum is a must! According to the legend, it was at this small but beautiful island that Richard I, the Lionheart, found salvation from a shipwreck, when returning in 1192 from a crusade. Besides this historical mark and the beautiful monastery built after this salvation, Lokrum is an incredible and gifted island: Dead Sea, where you can feel the properties of the salt, great landscapes, a lot of natures and its animals, like peacocks, a monastery and much much more. No wonder that Game of Thrones decided to film here!!! #summervacation #gameofthrones #deadsea #croatia #lokrum #dubrovnik #naturalwonders

Coastal Charms in Dubrovnik's Hidden Gem 🌊🌅
Nestled along the Adriatic coast, Dubrovnik's lesser-known gem, Cavtat, captivates with its old-world charm and breathtaking vistas. As I strolled through its cobblestone streets, the blend of medieval architecture and azure waters left me enchanted. 🏰✨

For history buffs, the Rector's Palace stands as a testament to Cavtat's rich past. 🏛️ Explore the Racic Mausoleum's artistry, a hidden gem amidst cypress trees. The town's maritime museum offers insights into its seafaring legacy. 🚢⚓
Indulge your taste buds at local tavernas lining the waterfront. 🍲🍷 Savor fresh seafood, paired with Croatian wines, as the sun dips below the horizon. The locals' warmth adds to the dining experience.
Cavtat's pebble beaches beckon for a refreshing dip. 💦 Find tranquility at Pasjača Beach, nestled between cliffs. Don't forget your snorkeling gear – the crystal-clear waters reveal an underwater world teeming with life. 🐠🤿
Avoid the peak summer crowds by visiting in the shoulder seasons. 🗓️ Venture beyond the main square to discover hidden nooks with panoramic views. Embrace the slow pace, and you'll uncover the true essence of this Adriatic haven.
