It is connected to a shopping mall and is within walking distance of Gulou Metro Station. Its geographical location is quite convenient. After all, it is a five-star hotel, and InterContinental has quite a few facilities. The reception hall is on the 45th floor, where there is also a restaurant and bar; the 47th floor is a club and serves Cantonese cuisine; the guest rooms are concentrated on floors 49-71 and 80-81, with the top two floors being the presidential suite; and the top floor is the Greenland Club. The most basic deluxe room is 42 square meters in size, and its decoration and facilities are fashionable and simple. Although it is not a new hotel, it is a five-star hotel after all, and is still quite luxurious. The large bathtub and view alone are amazing. On weekdays, a night for two people costs about NT$3,000, which is quite affordable compared to InterContinental's prices. This year, I spent the Lunar New Year in Nanjing. Jinling, Yingtianfu, all these names sound so beautiful, and the city has a long history and rich culture. This year, I took advantage of the Lunar New Year holiday to visit Nanjing and explore the ancient city on foot with a city walk. 🏨Hotel: This time I chose InterContinental Nanjing, first because of the landmark Zifeng Tower, and second because of its location. It's near Gulou and close to many attractions, perfect for a city walk. The hotel is located on the upper floors of the building, and the rooms offer views of the city or Xuanwu Lake. It's a great location for first-time visitors to Nanjing. However, the hotel is a bit old, so if you mind that, don't choose this InterContinental. 🗺️Attractions: Since I stayed near Xuanwu Lake, I went there first. On the way to Xuanwu Lake, you can also visit Jiming Temple and climb the city wall. Then, exit from Jiuhuashan Park and start walking around Xuanwu Lake. There is a Librairie Avant-Garde bookstore on the island in the middle of the lake, where you can buy some cultural and creative products or books. Finally, exit from Xuanwumen. After two weeks of exhibition and tourism in Hangzhou in June, I moved to Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties. I made an appointment to visit the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum of Emperor Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang, the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum of Premier Sun, and several scenic spots around Purple Mountain. I paid tribute to the national anti-Japanese martyrs and the tomb of Fang Xiaoru, who was said to have been executed for ten clans. There are really many scenic spots around Purple Mountain. On the second night, I also climbed the Zhonghua Gate and Confucius Temple in Nanjing City. I stayed here for more than ten days. Unfortunately, it rained. I will come again if I have the chance. It is worth a visit with friends. During this period, I stayed in two hotels, one is Nanjing InterContinental, and the other is Ascott Court Apartment Hotel in Gulou District. Chinese/Western buffet with endless delicacies - you'll need to roll out stuffed! Free parking! Direct elevator from garage - road-trippers needn't worry about parking! Spacious, ultra-comfy rooms! Immaculately clean with no odors, plus chaise lounges for lazy lake viewing. The gym boasts great views, while the crystal-clear pool area (including locker rooms) is spotless with steam room and bathtub. Notably, the hotel's fitness facilities are exceptionally well-equipped.

After check-in, the room was too hot, and the front desk didn't answer my calls. I finally reached them through Trip.com's APP using their official number. The front desk explained they only had heating, no cooling, and offered a fan - quite unacceptable for Nanjing's 28-degree weather. However, the manager handled the issue promptly and professionally, upgrading our room without the extra charge and offering complimentary minibar access. On the first day, we returned to find the entrance bathroom uncleaned with paper clogging the toilet; on the second day, we found urine in the toilet. The manager addressed these issues after we reported them. The old-style elevators offer good privacy and pleasant fragrance. 🧹Soundproofing/Cleanliness: Good Sound Isolation, Some Cleanliness Issues Sound isolation is excellent - minimal noise from outside or neighboring rooms. However, cleanliness issues emerged, particularly with the entrance bathroom's incomplete cleaning. With improvements in service efficiency, facility maintenance, and cleanliness management, the hotel could offer an even better experience. The Intercontinental Hotel I stayed at during this business trip was great because I could see the city's night view at a glance. I recommend going to Bujamiao at night if possible. Convenient location, close to everything. 🍻🍵 Apart from the kettle and 4 bottles of water, everything else is placed on a tray on the top shelf of the inner wall cabinet. It's quite heavy, so you have to be careful when picking it up. A pair of glasses and black cups are placed upside down on the tray. The corkscrew is a rare sight.
