Kichijoji Walk 🪻 Inokashira Park
🍀 Staying near Kichijoji, you can walk to the park.
🍀 Green everywhere, tall trees 🌳 everywhere is a view.
🍀 You can row a boat by the lake. We chose the swan boat 🦢 800 yen for half an hour, the kind you pedal, rowing the boat and blowing the wind is so pleasant.
🍀 The park is very large, and there is a paid Natural Culture Park and Zoo ticket 🎫 together 200 yen per adult, there are really few people, the zoo, especially the squirrel house 🐿️ little squirrels running around is so cute 😻 there is also a place for babies to play. The Ghibli Museum is also very close, those who like forest style and fresh style and like to visit parks can come! Those with kids can come!

Tokyo Fall Leaf Viewing Guide: Inokashira Park
Is there anything more pleasant than visiting a park to see the fall leaves in Tokyo? This time, let's visit a park that locals often go to: Inokashira Park. It is said to be a popular spot for fall leaf viewing!
📍Address: 1 Chome-18-31 Gotenyama, Musashino, Tokyo 180-0005, Japan
🚗Transportation: Take the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line or Chuo Line to Kichijoji Station, then walk for 12 minutes.
🕙Opening hours: All day
💰Admission: Free
🌟Highlights: Inokashira Park is located in the Kichijoji neighborhood, which is one of the most desirable places to live in Japan. There are more local tourists than foreign tourists here.
It was once a royal property of the Japanese imperial family and was not opened to the public until 1917. That's why it is called "Inokashira Park" (meaning "Gift Park"). It is also the first suburban park in Japan!
Like other parks in Tokyo, it is a famous spot for cherry blossom and fall leaf viewing. Now is the fall leaf season, so there are more tourists. It is also a popular dating spot for couples!
📌Tips:
✅On a sunny day, it is great to sit on a bench and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. It is worth mentioning that the benches here are all donated by local residents, and each bench has a meaningful message written on the back.
✅Inokashira Park is on the way to the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, so it is recommended to visit both places on the same day. Note that you need to make a reservation in advance to enter the Ghibli Museum!
✅One of the must-do activities here is boating! It costs about JPY 400–800 for half an hour. The swan boats are great for photos, but the space inside is really small, so it is recommended to choose a larger boat.
✅In addition, the park is home to Benzaiten, also known as the goddess of performing arts. It is said that many artists come here to pray for popularity, so you might even meet a celebrity!
✅It is also the filming location for many famous TV dramas. There is a shallow creek in the depths of the park, where you can play in the water when it is hot. It is so much fun!

🤗🩷 During our fantastic vacation, I went on a thrilling journey to the lively city of Japan. The beginning of spring had brought a special allure to the surroundings, and we felt energized as we wandered around the famous Inokashira Park. Discovering the luxurious scenery of this picturesque paradise, we were mesmerized by the breathtaking views that greeted us at every corner.
Situated a mere 15 minutes away from the heart of Tokyo, this enchanting Inokashira park offers a plethora of activities to indulge in for an afternoon of leisure. From a captivating zoo to a pond adorned with whimsically shaped rental boats, and playground amenities to entertain the little ones, there is no shortage of entertainment. On the southern side lies the esteemed Studio Ghibli museum, a pilgrimage site for anime enthusiasts. During weekends, the park transforms into a vibrant hub bustling with street vendors, musicians, and artists. As the end of March approaches, the park becomes a picturesque scene with cherry blossoms in full bloom, attracting crowds for hanami festivities. A visit to this park during this time is truly a memorable experience.
The luxurious and enchanting sanctuary has left an indelible mark on the deepest corners of my mind. The pure joy of returning and savoring every moment in this unmatched haven is truly beyond compare. 💕😘🌸💮#mytravelhacks #historicallandmarks #localguides #familytrip #trip

Best Tokyo Sakura Spot
#cherryblossom2024
One of the best cherry blossom spots in Tokyo
Inokasira Park has about 500 cherry trees growing along the shores of a clear mirror lake. This incredibly beautiful place is one of the best parks in Tokyo.
We recommend it
To see the cherry blossom in late March — early April
Take a ride on the lake on an unusual boat in the shape of a swan
It is interesting
Inokasira celebrated its centenary in 2017
The park was a gift to the people of Japan from the imperial family
Most of the sakura trees grow near the lake, many of them overhang the surface of the water
How to get there
The nearest train station to the park is JR Kichijoji, about 30 minutes from the center of Tokyo.
Kichijoji can be reached from Shinjuku Station via the JR Chuo Line. An alternative route is from Shibuya Station on the Keio Line to Inokashira-koen Station.
A time for fun
Inokashira Park is especially lively during the cherry blossom season. Many visitors ,spread mats and arrange picnics to relax under the shade of flowering trees. On weekends, it is better to come early in order to have time to take a seat, but in the middle of the week there is less noise and fuss here.
Not only sakura
There are a lot of interesting things in Inokasir Park. There is a duck pond, a zoo and an aquarium. You can visit the temple of Bandzaiten— the goddess of music and eloquence. The museum of the famous studio Ghibli is also located on the territory of the park. To visit it, you need to buy a separate ticket.

Rainy Cherry Blossom in Inokashira park
The nearest station to Inokashira part is Kichijoji station.
You’ll walk passing by a lot of vintage or second hands store before the park.
Unfortunately, we came on cloudy and rainy day, so we could not rent the boat and paddle around the large pond :(
Best time to visit is late march to early april~
