This was my first time using Turkmenistan Airlines to travel to Moscow, Russia. The flight from Suvarnabhumi Airport took 5 hours and I had to stop over at Ashgabat Airport, Turkmenistan before taking another 4 hours from Ashgabat to Domodedovo Airport, Moscow, Russia (starting with a 3-hour delay😅 from Suvarnabhumi Airport). In terms of the plane and service of Turkmenistan Airlines, it was better than expected because the plane from BKK was very large. The seats were arranged in a 3-3-3 layout. The interior was clean, the plane was new, the seats were spacious, and there was plenty of space between my knees and the seat in front (my friend who was over 180 cm tall didn't even touch my knees). On the way there, the plane wasn't full, so I booked a 3-seat sleeper seat (the staff said that I could move after the plane took off 😁). There was a screen to watch movies, listen to music, and a charger. The receptionists were friendly and provided good service. They served 2 rounds of meat and chicken. Despite the lack of people, there were cleaners everywhere, and from 8 PM to 5 AM, the entire city was illuminated with lights, making it the cleanest and most comfortable city to stay in, yet truly a strange one.

Traveling by land from Khiva, Uzbekistan, through Shavat to Turkmenistan, I aimed to visit the Gates of Hell. On the way, I saw the UNESCO World Heritage site at Kunya-Urgench, then traveled for four hours on unpaved roads to reach the Gates of Hell. By the time I arrived, it was night, and flames were continuously burning from the bottom of the massive hole. The occasional gusts of wind brought waves of heat, and watching the ever-burning flames, I felt the pulse of the Earth. I had always wanted to visit this place, and I couldn't stop taking pictures. I stayed overnight in a nearby yurt. However, it was extremely hot even at night in the midsummer desert, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. As dawn broke, I gazed at the Gates of Hell in a daze. The Gates of Hell, which have been burning for 52 years, are said to be closing in December as part of the country's CO2 reduction goals, according to the guide. However, every year they say it will close, and it hasn't happened yet, so it's uncertain. But there are now drilling facilities near the Gates of Hell, indicating they might be serious this time. If you haven't seen it yet and want to, I recommend going soon.
