Falling in love with the spicy taste of Ganjjamppong at Jukjanjjamppong
Hello, I am a blogger who loves exploring restaurants! Today, I am going to share a review of the Ganjjamppong I tasted at Jukjanjjamppong, a hidden gem in Jeongbalsan-dong, Ilsan. If you are looking for a bowl of spicy and addictive Jjamppong near Jeongbalsan, this is a must-visit place. Let’s unravel the charm contained in a bite of hot Ganjjamppong!

Signature Menu: Ganjjamppong (spicy jjamppong in stir-fry style)
Located near Western Dome in Jeongbalsan-dong, Weekly Jjamppong has a clean exterior that catches the eye at least once. It is a perfect location for a date or casual dining, blending in with the lively atmosphere of Bamridan-gil. There are a few parking spaces available in front of the store, but since the space is limited, we recommend using the public parking lot or public transportation.
First Impression of the Store: Cozy and Clean Space
The first thing you feel when you open the door and enter the store is the warm atmosphere. The neatly toned walls and wooden tables create a simple yet sophisticated feel. The spacing between tables was just right, so I was able to eat comfortably without worrying about being crowded next to me.
The interior is clean and simple, but the dolls and handwritten menus that greet you at the entrance added a little sentimentality. The cleanliness of the store is perfect! The tables are clean, and the kitchen area is also clean, which made me look forward to the food even more. The smiling greetings from the staff also made my first impression even better.
Menu and Order: Exploring the Charm of Ganjjamppong
The signature menu of Weekly Jjamppong is definitely Ganjjamppong. It is a stir-fried jjamppong with almost no broth, and it is characterized by a spicy sauce and chewy noodles. I ordered Ganjjamppong (10,900 won) and Gunmandu (4,000 won). You can choose the spiciness of Ganjjamppong from level 1 to 3, but my friend who loves spicy food boldly chose level 2, and I who can’t stand spicy food chose level 3.
I called 30 minutes before my arrival to make a reservation and it came out as soon as I arrived. I called in advance to make the weekly jjambbong because they said they cook it right after I ordered it. It’s a secret that I went there 30 minutes before closing time to make sure it was the last order. Today, I was able to eat late because they didn’t run out of ingredients. They sometimes close early when they run out of ingredients, so if you’re unlucky, they close early. I made a reservation in advance so I could enjoy it without waiting. The visual of the ganjjambbong on the plate was mouthwatering!
Taste Review: Perfect Harmony of Spicy and Fiery Flavor
The moment I first tasted ganjjambbong, my heart raced at the spicy scent that tickled my nose. The thin, chewy noodles were evenly mixed in the rich sauce, and I felt addicted with every bite. The sauce had a strong smoky flavor because it was a mixture of chili oil and various seasonings. This smoky flavor is the key to ganjjambbong! The flavor unique to Chinese cuisine filled my mouth.
The ingredients were also generous. Onions, carrots, cabbage, and green onions were crunchy and added texture, and the pork pieces melted softly and added richness. In particular, the sweet taste of the onions harmonized with the spicy sauce, making me keep picking up my chopsticks. Level 1 of spiciness is about the same as Shin Ramyun Level 2 is more of a spice flavor than spicy, so it was easy to enjoy if you are not a spicy food lover. Those who like spicy food should try level 3!
I also liked that it didn't leave a heavy feeling in my stomach after eating it because it was a style with little soup. I was able to finish it cleanly without the oily feeling that is typical of jjambbong. Personally, I think Ganjjambbong is a versatile menu that goes well with hot summer days and chilly weather.
Side menu: Gunmandu
It tastes like ready-made dumplings. However, it was perfect for neutralizing the spiciness of Ganjjambbong. It is good for two people to share.
Service: A place where kindness stands out
The staff at Weekly Jjambbong were really kind. When ordering, they explained the spiciness level in detail, so it was easy to choose. They refilled the water right away when I ran out during my meal, and they cleaned up my empty plates quickly, so I was able to enjoy my meal comfortably. In particular, I was impressed by their smile that never lost its charm even when there were many customers.
However, during lunch time (12:00~1:30), it can be a bit crowded. I visited before closing time on a weekday and enjoyed it leisurely, but please note that there may be a waiting time during peak times. It is also a good idea to call in advance to check if reservations are available.
Atmosphere and visiting tips
The restaurant has a casual and comfortable atmosphere overall. It is a comfortable space to eat alone or with friends or a lover. Since it is near the lake park, it is perfect for taking a walk or going on a cafe tour after eating.
As a visiting tip, if possible, I recommend going after 2:00 PM or before 6:00 PM to avoid peak times. Parking can be difficult, so it is convenient to use public transportation (10 minutes walk from Jeongbalsan Station) or a public parking lot.
