Hyeonjung Shrine is the ancestral hall of General Yi Sun-sin (1545-1598), Duke Chungmu. The ancestral hall was built in 1706, the 32nd year of Emperor Suzong (reigned 1674-1720), and the next year Suzong named it Xianzhong Temple. During the Japanese rule in 1932, the Relics Preservation Society was established to preserve the remains of King Chungmu. Since then, the government has renovated the ancestral hall and decorated it as a holy place. In the ancestral hall hangs the portrait of General Li and the ten-mirror picture that records his life. In the relic hall, the National Treasure No. 76 "Diary of Chaos" and the No. 326 Treasure Long Sword, as well as the thatched hut, shooting range, and armored turtle ship where Duke Chungmu lived and used were displayed. Entering from the main entrance of Xianzhong Temple, you can also see another door at the entrance - the Red Arrow Gate. Behind the red arrow gate is the place where the portrait of General Li is placed. This is a Korean-style building mixed with blue tiles and reinforced concrete. The ancient houses in the ancestral hall not only have houses where General Li spent his childhood, youth and youth, but also Zhongwu Well. Now a new lotus pond has been built in the ancestral hall, which is also a scenic spot worth seeing.
