[Shiga] Spectacular autumn foliage at the oldest temple in the three Koto mountains
📍 Baekje Temple, Shiga
The other day, I went to Baekje Temple, the oldest temple in Omi Province, one of the three mountains in the eastern part of Kotokuji in Shiga Prefecture, as the autumn leaves were at their peak. 🍁 It was built by Prince Shotoku in 606 for the immigrants from Baekje.
The huge temple, with its 300 sub-temples and 1,300 residents, was called "Little Mount Hiei of the Eastern Lake," but it was burned down by Nobunaga. The view over the pond from the Shoin corridor and the autumn leaves seen from the moss-covered stone wall approach are breathtaking 🍁💓
The colorful gradation of the autumn leaves is also very beautiful and mesmerizing 😍
Many people came on bus tours 🚌
At this time of year, the temple is also lit up, so in addition to the beautiful autumn leaves, you can see projection mapping and other things, and you can see the lustrous Baekje Temple in a different light than during the day 🍁
