We have visited 5 cities and 5 autonomous prefectures in Yunnan, and I'm falling in love with it more and more. A few days ago, we arrived in Mile, which is directly accessible by high-speed rail. Unexpectedly, my child loved it here so much that we changed our planned three-day, two-night trip to a full ten days. This small city is really more suitable for residing.

📍Visit Taiping Lake Park during the day
The scenery here is like something out of a Miyazaki Hayao film, picturesque all year round, and there are also a few karst landscapes. The small train and feeding pigeons are the children's favorites. The scenic area is large; you can really play for a whole day.
📍Quanhu Ecological Park in the evening
Mile is like a mini Sanya. Almost every evening after dinner, Xiaobei comes to play for 2 hours. You can ride bikes, catch fish, and play in the sand. We don't want to go home even when it gets dark.

📍Jinping Mountain Mile Temple
This place has the world's largest seated Maitreya Buddha statue, standing at 19.99 meters tall amidst the lush trees of Jinping Mountain. You can take a sightseeing car or walk up 1999 steps. A four-year-old child can climb 1999 steps without any problem.
📍Keyi Town
An ancient Yi ethnic town with more than 300 years of history, well-preserved, and mostly inhabited by locals. There are performances, and it's quite convenient to get there by bus from the city. Those who like to visit ancient villages should definitely go.
📍Buddha Capital Mall
This place has a wide range of goods, and they are very cheap. If you're residing here and need any daily necessities, you can find them all here. The most attractive part is the fruit store on the first floor, fresh and delicious.

📍Dongfeng Charm
The red brick buildings here were built without a single steel bar, using only local red bricks to construct castles. It's great for taking photos, but there's not much for children to play with. It's very close to the high-speed rail station, so it's arranged on the last day. After visiting, you can go directly to the high-speed rail station.
🏠Accommodation
Lake Quan Tianyi Hotel, all independent villas, located within the Quanhu Ecological Park. It has a Bali vibe, and you can swim or soak in hot springs in the villa. In the evening after dinner, we rowed boats and walked black swans in the park. The environment is fantastic, and you can play for a whole day without going out. I really like this kind of hotel where you can see various beautiful views without leaving the park.

Mile, a lesser-known tourist spot in Yunnan
Mile is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province, named after the Mile Temple in the city. The city has a pleasant climate, warm in winter and cool in summer, making it a great place for travel and vacation.
In Mile, there are many attractions worth visiting. First is Dongfeng Yun, a place full of artistic atmosphere, with unique red brick buildings such as the Kaleidoscope Art Museum, Half a Cloud, Niu Duo Luo Music Farm, and the Seal Room, which are called 'ugly and cute buildings with strange shapes', known as the 'Provence in Central Yunnan'. Next is the Yunnan Red Wine Estate, one of the largest grape wine production areas in Yunnan, where visitors can see the whole process of wine brewing and taste the wine for free. Taiping Lake Forest Park is a recreational holiday park mainly featuring flower sea landscapes and land art, with various entertainment facilities such as lake view restaurants, log cabins, and RV camps. In addition, Jinping Mountain Scenic Area is a famous Buddhist holy land in Mile, and you can see the 19.9-meter-tall Maitreya Buddha on the top of the mountain; Huquan Ecological Park is a good place for leisure, relaxation, and holiday entertainment; Honghe Water Town has a rich historical background and beautiful natural scenery; Keyi Town is the hometown of the national intangible cultural heritage Axie Moon Dance, full of the atmosphere of Yi ethnic villages.
From Kunming, it only takes 40 minutes by high-speed rail or 2 hours by car to reach Mile.
