Many believers come to borrow money from Guanyin and pray for good fortune. The popularity of the Kwan Yin Temple in Hung Hom is also related to a rumor. It is said that during the Second World War, the Hung Hom area was bombed and the nearby buildings were almost razed to the ground, but the Guanyin Temple remained standing. The believers all believed that it was because of the blessing of Guanyin Bodhisattva.
