Rongcheng May Day Travel Guide (Detailed) - Recommended for Saving
Hey everyone! Rongcheng is truly a hidden gem of a coastal city, and it's the perfect place to visit during the May Day holiday! Save this guide and let it lead you on a fun trip around Rongcheng! 🚀
🌟 Pre-trip Preparation
Clothing: It's a bit chilly in the mornings and evenings, so remember to bring a long-sleeved jacket 🧥. You can wear short sleeves and shorts during the day, and bring your swimsuit if you want to play in the water. Sunscreen clothing, a sun hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are also essential, or you'll end up getting a tan! 🕶️
Documents: Be sure to bring your ID card, and bring any discount cards you have, such as student IDs or senior citizen cards, to save a bit of money~
Items: Bring an umbrella or raincoat just in case, a power bank to keep your phone charged, and a camera to record all the wonderful moments. If you plan to go clamming, be sure to bring a small shovel, bucket, and gloves!
🏠 Accommodation Options
Rongcheng City: I recommend the Huaxing Hotel, Ni's Haitai Hotel, and Jiulong Sheng Hotel. They're conveniently located with lots of great food nearby.
Near Na Xianghai: The Na Xianghai residential area and InterContinental residential area have many homestays. You can walk right out to the beach, which is super convenient for watching the sunrise 🌅
🚗 Transportation Guide
You can take a taxi within Rongcheng, and the prices are reasonable. If you're visiting multiple attractions on the northern route, you can charter a car if you have a larger group. It's convenient and flexible, and you can stop to take photos at any time.
🌄 Recommended Attractions
Xixiakou Wildlife Zoo: There are so many different kinds of animals, and there's even a giraffe restaurant 🦒! But you should go early, otherwise it'll be difficult to park, and there may be restrictions on the number of visitors allowed in, resulting in long queues.
Hailu Island: You can see tons of seagulls even without going to the island. It's like a white ocean, and the photos you take will be amazing! I recommend arriving by 8am to reduce your queuing time.
Jiming Island: This is where "Where Are We Going, Dad?" was filmed. The scenery is beautiful, and you'll need to take a boat to get there, so try to set off early.
Motianling Sea-Crossing Cableway: Experience the feeling of traveling through the clouds. I recommend taking the northern loop 🚠. It's greatly affected by the weather, so it's best to check the conditions before you go.
Na Xianghai: This is a great place to watch the sunrise and sunset. The sand is fine and the seawater is clear. Although the seawater is a bit cold in May and you can't swim in the sea, it's still very pleasant to stroll along the beach.
Baihe Bay: You can go clamming for razor clams and dig in the sand. There's also a lighthouse and a Ferris wheel, which make for amazing photos 🎡
Ocean Ranch: I recommend Sangou Bay Ocean Ranch and Allen Bay Ocean Ranch. You can take a boat out to sea, catch seafood, and feed the seagulls. You can also eat the seafood you cook yourself, which is so fresh it'll knock your socks off!
🥘 Recommended Food
Seaweed Buns: This is a local specialty that you definitely have to try. The deliciousness of the seaweed and the wheat aroma of the flour blend together perfectly.
Spanish Mackerel Dumplings: They're large and filled with lots of filling. Take a bite and you'll taste the fish, which is incredibly fresh.
Seafood Platter: All kinds of seafood are gathered together, so you can eat your fill in one go. Remember to pair it with some vinegar and mustard to cut through the richness and enhance the flavor.
❗ Important Information
1. Book your attraction tickets and accommodation in advance. There are many tourists during the May Day holiday, so you should do this to avoid delaying your trip.
2. Pay attention to the tide times when you go clamming, otherwise you may end up wasting your time.
3. Be careful when playing by the sea, keep an eye on your personal belongings, and don't let them be swept away by the waves~
Rongcheng is truly a place that you'll want to visit again and again, so hurry up and plan your trip! 💖
