After 4 days in Xi'an, my consumption concept collapsed
My dears, I am here to share my travel experience again! This time I went to Xi'an, a city with a lot of historical heritage. I had a lot of fun in the four days. Let me tell you about it~
Preparation before departure
Be sure to check the weather before you go and bring appropriate clothing. Don’t forget your mainland China ID card, student ID card (bring it if you have one, it can save you a lot of money) and other documents. Find out the opening hours and reservation requirements of some attractions online in advance~ In addition, prepare a pair of comfortable sneakers, after all, you have to walk a lot in Xi'an👟.
Transportation
✈️Airport: Xi'an Xianyang International Airport is a little far from the city center. You can choose the airport bus. There are many routes to various places in the city, which is very convenient. You can also take the subway and transfer a few times to reach the core area of the city.
🚇In the city: The subway is highly recommended. Xi'an subway lines can basically cover most of the attractions, and it is fast and accurate. Public transportation is also very convenient, but there may be traffic jams during peak hours. If there are many people traveling together, taking a taxi is also a good choice, and the cost can be shared equally.
Accommodation options
I suggest staying near the Bell and Drum Tower📍, it is convenient to go everywhere. There are many hotels and B&Bs around, with prices varying from high to low. I stayed in a homestay where I could see the ancient city wall from the window, which was very nice at night. In the off-season, you can get a nice place to stay for two or three hundred yuan. It may be more expensive in the peak season. You can compare several hotels.
Four-day itinerary
Day 1: Bell Tower - Drum Tower - Xi'an City Wall
In the morning, we first went to the bell tower, which stood there like a majestic historical guard. Wander around the bell tower and soak up the charm of the ancient architecture. Then go to the Drum Tower, which echoes the Bell Tower. From these two places, you can feel the ancient charm of Xi'an.
In the afternoon, I went to the Xi'an City Wall, rented a bicycle 🚲, rode along the city wall, felt the wind, and looked at the scenery inside and outside the city wall. It was so pleasant. The city wall is very large. You can ride slowly and stop to take pictures. The city wall is super beautiful at sunset, don't miss it.
Day 2: Shaanxi History Museum - Big Wild Goose Pagoda
Make sure to make an appointment in advance for Shaanxi History Museum! The cultural relics here are dazzling, allowing you to travel back to ancient times and understand the historical changes of Shaanxi. Various exquisite bronzes, ceramics, calligraphy and paintings, each one tells a story📜.
From the Shaanxi History Museum, you can walk to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. There is a musical fountain in the square around the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. There will be performances in the evening. The fountain rises and falls with the rhythm of the music, which is particularly spectacular.
Day 3: Huaqing Palace - Terracotta Warriors
These two attractions are in Lintong District, a little far from the city center, but you can take a special tourist bus to get there. The Huaqing Palace has beautiful scenery. You can see the ancient royal hot spring pool. Imagine the scene of Yang Guifei bathing here.
The Terracotta Warriors are even more shocking and are known as the "Eighth Wonder of the World". Each lifelike terracotta warrior seems to show you the power of the Qin Dynasty. It is recommended to ask a tour guide to explain, otherwise you may not understand the ins and outs of it just by watching.
Day 4: The Tang Dynasty City That Never Sleeps
During the day, you can go shopping in the city and buy some local specialties. At night, we went to the Tang Dynasty City That Never Sleeps, which is simply a dreamlike world of the Tang Dynasty. The bright lights, the imitation Tang Dynasty buildings and the people in ancient costumes will instantly take you back in time. There are also various performances and street performers, which is very lively 🎉.
Food Recommendations
🥙Roujiamo: The steamed bun is crispy, the meat is tender and juicy, and one bite will give you a full sense of happiness. Be sure to try the fat and lean ones, which are fragrant and not greasy.
🍜Oil-splashed noodles: Pour hot oil on the chili and noodles, with a "sizzling" sound, the fragrance comes out instantly. The noodles are chewy and taste super delicious.
🍧Liangpi: It is smooth and delicious, sour and spicy, and appetizing. It is especially suitable for eating in summer. Eat one while walking on the road, which is very refreshing.
🥟 Mutton soup with steamed bun: The mutton is soft and the soup is rich. The process of breaking the steamed bun by yourself is also very interesting. The whole person will feel warm after eating it.
Tips for Playing
1. There are many people at the scenic spots, especially during holidays, so queue up in advance to avoid wasting time.
2. When buying local specialties, compare prices from several stores and be careful not to get ripped off.
