This waterfall, known as the largest waterfall in Asia, is a huge waterfall group consisting of 18 waterfalls on the ground and 14 waterfalls under the surface. It is so majestic and magnificent that it cannot be ignored! Huangguoshu Waterfall is famous not only for its unique karst natural landform, but also for being the filming location for the Chinese TV series "Journey to the West". It got its name from the yellow fruit trees growing on both sides of the river, and thus became the "Water Curtain Cave in Huaguo Mountain", the hometown of Sun Wukong in the TV series. The real-life version of the Huangguoshu Waterfall actually has a tourist attraction called the Water Curtain Cave! The Water Curtain Cave is a cave located behind the main Huangguoshu Waterfall. It has six cave windows, five cave halls, three cave springs and six passages, running across both sides of the waterfall. Due to the strong moisture from the waterfall, you will still get soaked even if you wear a raincoat after walking around the Water Curtain Cave, but you are lucky to see a rainbow. Huangguoshu Waterfall is located in Guizhou, and transportation is really inconvenient, so I chose to travel with a group. Transportation: 1. 🚄 High-speed rail: Guiyang North - Anshun West - Bus to the scenic area 1.5h 69r 2. 🚌 Guiyang Airport Airport direct bus to Huangguoshu Waterfall Scenic Area 3h 90r 3. 🚗 Airport Shunfeng Car to Huangguoshu Waterfall 2h 205r (Missed the airport bus at the landing time, and wanted to go to Xiaoqikong later, didn't want to toss, I chose option 3) 🔴 Play Guide: Huangguoshu Waterfall - Tianxingqiao (second half) - Doupotang (86 Journey to the West filming location) 🗾 Huangguoshu Waterfall (including photo 1.5h) Take the scenic sightseeing bus to Huangguoshu Waterfall, hike down the mountain (20 minutes), you will pass 3 viewing platforms, view Huangguoshu Waterfall from high to low, there are signs to Shuiliandong (recommended to bring a raincoat) go directly in, this section is all the way down the mountain, finally to the low end of Huangguoshu Waterfall, close-up of the big waterfall, then take a one-way escalator up. 🗾 Tianxingqiao (including photo 2h) A more physically demanding attraction, divided into the first half and the second half, the first half has a wishing pavilion, a stone road with 365 days a year printed on it, and some artificial landscapes, I only walked the second half which was very exciting, perfectly avoiding the commercial area of Gaolaozhuang, the second half passed 88 iron cable bridge-bridge on bridge-Tianxingdong-Maoshui pool-Silver chain waterfall-cableway. ‼️ How to get to the second half of Tianxingqiao?‼️ Do not enter when you arrive at the entrance of Tianxingqiao, face the main gate and walk up the slope stairs on the left, go against the flow of tourists all the way, you will see Huangguoshu Folk Snack City, walk all the way to the very lively fruit stalls, do not go down the stairs from the stalls, there is a parking lot on the left hand side behind the stalls, after seeing the toilet, there will be a signpost for the second half of Tianxingqiao. 🗾 Doupotang (including photo 1.5h) Relatively gentle, the attraction is not big, 86 Journey to the West filming location, the waterfall is short and fat, if time is not enough, you can skip here. Stayed in a hotel near Huangguoshu Scenic Area the night before, 7 minutes walk to the entrance of the scenic area, very convenient, the hotel can also pick up and drop off the scenic area. Doupotang Scenic Area Follow the clockwise or counterclockwise loop, only a 15-minute walk to encounter the Doupotang Waterfall, the filming location of "Journey to the West". #chasingwaterfalls Huangguoshu Waterfall is a real spectacle! If you hit it after recent rainfall its at its most beautiful but even without that it remains an incredible waterfall! Work your way around to experience the rainbow at the bottom 😍 Be warned, the queue is crazy! My advice would be to go there as early as possible and make your way straight to the majn waterfall. You can spend the rest of your time exploring the surrounding the area which is also very beautiful and has many smaller waterfalls and walks for you to enjoy.

The waterfall is amazing! Especially when you are going through the tunnel under it. But gosh, it was sososo crowded this July: in the line in the tunnel people almost didn't move... Huangguoshu Waterfall Cost- ¥210 for adults Attractions - A shuttle bus will take you to 3 scenic areas, however, Huangguoshu Waterfall is by far the best attraction in the park. You can observe the waterfall from below, above and behind! We recommend staying close to the park so you can arrive as early as possible to avoid the crowds. We stayed in Zhenning, Anshun. Last year, one of the most famous waterfall in China launch night travel. It is a wonderful experience to both experience the beauty of nature with well designed performance and light show. With student discounts, only 100+ bucks, it is well worth the experience. When we are traveling, due to the Covid reason, the attraction is almost empty, which gives tourists much better experience. The performance is great, and at night, the temperature is much cooler. Such tour is recommended if you want to have a less crowded experience for the waterfall and enjoy the wanderful performances. The only downside is that the tickets is different from the day travel and you cannot buy one ticket to enjoy both day view and night view.

Huangguoshu Waterfall is the one of the place I would recommend anyone who is visiting Guiyang to visit. The location is around 120 kms from Guiyang city center. It’s taking around 1.30-2 hrs to get there (by driving). Better to get there in the morning since the ticket is included 3 tourist locations (220 rmb per person). After buying the ticket, you need to take a bus to the waterfall (included in 220 rmb). At the waterfall, you rather have a choice to walk or use the escalator to the spot (50 rmb for round trip / 30 rmb for one way). Recommended to walk to the waterfall and return by the escalator. It take around 20 mins to walk to the waterfall. Ps. You can bring the raincoat or buy it at the front gate if you worry about getting wet :)) #naturalwonders

Huangguoshu Waterfall, the first in Asia and the fourth in the world. I went to this long-famous Huangguoshu Waterfall alone, first took the high-speed rail, then transferred to a shared car. After arriving, I bought a ticket on the spot and had to queue up in a long line to get on the electric car. Finally, I saw this spectacular waterfall. Many staff members took photos for me. I printed the photos on the spot as a souvenir. I was very satisfied after checking in in front of the waterfall. It turns out that you can climb a flight of stone steps and pass through the middle of the waterfall to the other side, which is called the Water Curtain Cave. It is very rare to see the water flow up close from the inside of the waterfall. What is even more surprising is to see a rainbow in front of the waterfall. Huangguoshu Waterfall is the largest waterfall in Asia and the largest cluster of waterfalls in the world! It was a surreal visit and one that I will never forget. We left early and I would recommend this to avoid the busy crowds. We took a taxi from our hotel to the ticket office. Tickets cost 220rmb including entry to the falls and the shuttle buses. The first shuttle bus takes you to a lovely scenic park, home to a rushing river and waterfall. When you are ready, you can take the shuttle bus to the second location. A beautiful park with endless rivers, streams and lakes. You can walk through caves and narrow rock passages to take in the amazing views. The next shuttle bus takes you through the park to Huangguoshu Waterfall - the star of the show! Before walking down to the waterfall, you can enjoy the bonsai garden and water lily lake. Huangguoshu falls are truly breathtaking and a once in a lifetime experience. You can get very close to the waterfall meaning you get very wet - be sure to bring or buy a rain coat on site. On a sunny day, there will always be a rainbow above the falls which was incredible to see. You can then take a long walk to the waterfall caves where you are able to ‘walk through the waterfall’. There are a number of different food and drink vendors at each site of the waterfall park. A rainy day in Huangguoshu Waterfall 🏞 This is one of the can't miss attraction in Guizhou province. From Anshun it's around 40km away and taxi costs around 100 RMB 💴. Cheapest way is to travel by Bus 🚌. You can get the bus. from Anshun east bus station. There are buses in each 15 minutes. You can get Tickets directly from the bus ticket counter. Ticket costs around 22 RMB per person 💴. And it takes around 50 minute Journey.
