Climb Huaguo Mountain and reach the highest peak in Jiangsu
A day in Lianyungang
Taking advantage of Lianyungang's free entrance fee, the wind was too strong and the temperature was low. I didn't dare to go to the beach, so I chose to go to Huaguo Mountain to meet the Great Sage. Take B11 from Lianyungang Station to the terminal station, Huaguoshan Scenic Area, and walk more than 500 meters to enter the scenic area. Climbing route: Huaguoshan Mountain Gate - Shibapan - Fengmen Pavilion - Jiulong Bridge - Duobao Pagoda - Moxiang Trail - Catalpa Forest - Sanyuan Palace Complex - Great Temple - Water Curtain Cave - Jade Emperor Pavilion - Yingshu Pavilion - Jade Girl Peak
The whole climb took about 3 hours to reach the highest point in Jiangsu.
The wind power of Fengmen Pavilion is worthy of its name. The Moxiang Trail is good for taking photos. The closest way to Shuiliandong is in the direction of Sanyuan Palace. In addition to the temple, there is Shuiliandong. You can also encounter monkeys in this area, which is quite cute, but I didn’t dare to get close to take pictures, and I would snatch food from tourists.
The Sanyuan Palace complex is easy to photograph, as is the ancient ginkgo group, but it just started to turn yellow this weekend, so it should be nice next weekend. The water in Shuilian Cave has a rainbow effect under the refraction of sunlight. After walking around in the cave, there is nothing. When you come out, you still have to climb up, continue to the Great Temple, and then towards Jade Girl Peak. Climbing mountains in late autumn to breathe oxygen, the scenery is still good, but the wind is strong, so wearing a hat and mask is more reliable.
It costs 25 yuan to take a sightseeing bus to the exit at Jade Girl Peak. The driver drives very fast. Sitting in the first row, when turning, I feel like I am going to rush down and I dare not let out my breath.
Continue taking the B11 back to Lianyungang Station, and go to the Yanhe Lane Historic District in the evening, passing by the Minzhu Road Old Street, and after a quick look inside, there is nothing there. Salt River Lane is also a bit in decline, many shops are closed, but the night market is still bustling with people. I found a bar street to have dinner.
