The room is spacious and has a small outdoor sitting area where you can watch the snow and backyard trees that give a sense of calmness to it! the fitness and spa is very minimalist and the onsen is huge and comfortable for daily use that opens until 11pm. There is both indoor and outdoor heated onsen for total relaxation. breakfast place is magnificent with daily buffet provided. car park is free especially if you are renting a car to explore Karuizawa. This time we chose to stay at the Indigo Hotel, where the staff's gentle and courteous Japanese service made us feel right at home. Karuizawa itself is incredibly beautiful. When we arrived, it was just above freezing and not quite snowing yet. The weather was sunny, the sky was very clear, and the lake had a thin layer of ice, which was also a beautiful sight. The hotel's food was excellent. Isn't this what a vacation is all about? Delicious food, hot springs, and beautiful scenery. No wonder it's a famous resort destination in Japan.
