#mysgmemories I recently had the opportunity to stay at Hotel Fort Canning a while ago. The building was a former British military administration site, redesigned as a modern hotel while retaining much of the architecture and design that alluded to its colonial glamour. While I did not managed to check in on-time, due to a linen shortage that is delaying housekeeping, after a short wait, everything was finally settled. We were then processed by the front desk and got the keys to our hotel rooms. The hotel is very well-designed, and the rooms were bigger than what I expected. I enjoyed soaking in their lovely bathtub which was part of the highlight of this hotel.

Deluxe Room 318 with Park View

The main reason for staying in this hotel is the location and bathtub, and both did not disappoint. Was assigned a park facing room which made my bathtub view fantastic. Also loved the free standing bathtub. Slightly exposed so remember to draw the blinds when using the toilet! So that was a little inconvenient. Blinds also had to be operated manually. The hotel was found lacking in other aspects. As the bed was near the the door, sound proofing was not the best. Room was a little dusty too. No bathrobes provided as well. There are two pools in the hotel. One more suited for play and for children and the other a lap pool. That was a nice touch but getting towels was a pain. Had to go to the legend clubhouse basement one to get a towel. This involved a walk and taking a lift just for towels. All in all, it is worthwhile to stay here if you want to be one with nature, and stay in a colonial building with a fantastic bathtub and view. Other than that, not really a 5 star hotel. Rooms starting to show their age. Service was prompt but not outstanding. #staycation #

I had an amazing staycation at Hort Fort Canning. The hotel is the epitome of elegance meets nature. Being surrounded by flora and fauna, Hotel Fort Canning has the advantage of being close to nature even though it is located in the city. The hotel has really embraced nature by incorporating it in its design elements. Even the bathroom in Hotel Fort Canning is absolutely one of its kind. Flooring and walls boast marble finishes. Huge windows allow for lots of light to enter the room, giving the illusion of space and comfort. For some privacy, full shade curtains are available at the flick of a switch. HFC - Charming colonial style hotel

Skyscrapers and modern architecture are aplenty in Singapore. On the other hand, heritage and conservation buildings are few and far in between. One of such examples is Hotel Fort Canning which I recently discovered during one of my staycations in Singapore. The hotel exudes a strong colonial style intertwined with luxury and comfort. The deluxe room is complete with a king sized bed and an ensuite bathroom with a shower and a bath tub. There is also a lounge chair in the room for a mid day nap. The restaurant at level 1 (The Salon) serves delicious local food which I chose to takeaway and enjoy in the comfort of my room. #createwithtrip #staycation #singapore

#infinitypool Hotel Fort Canning Address: 11 Canning Walk, Singapore 178881 How to book swimming pool timing: After check in, book with the reception or call up the pool concierge. Hotel Fort Canning has 3 awesome pools and they are so big and so it is never crowded at all. All their pools are filled with mineral water treated with the NASA system which is good to drink by the astronauts. I will recommend the higher pool on the top to have a better view of Hotel Fort Canning. From the pool, you can get an overview of Orchard road and even Istana. When I was at Hotel Fort Canning back in October, the shortcut to the pool was closed. So I had to go to the basement and cut through the clubhouse. The vibes at Hotel Fort Canning was nice, you will feel like you are overseas because it is at the top of Fort Canning. If you look down, you can even see a beautiful sunset too. Try to visit the pool in the evening as the whole area will be illuminated.

All staycation guests at Hotel Fort Canning are entitled to a 20% dining discount at The Salon restaurant. As a result, we decided to dinner here and ordered the Hokkien mee, a cup of teh tarik and the Impossible meat ragout spaghetti, all of which were fairly tasty but not particularly memorable. After dinner, we stepped out onto the Garden Terrace. There’s something magical about twinkling fairy lights against the charming backdrop of colonial architecture, setting up a romantic ambience and beautiful photo opportunities! Breakfast the next morning was served here as well. Our egg orders were pretty yummy but unfortunately, they stuck strictly to the policy of one main dish per guest. The free-flow items like salad, cereal, fruits and croissants tasted okay. What was appalling though was the service from one of the wait staff. He had a very cold demeanour as he took our orders, not sure if he was having a bad day, but it was not the most pleasant thing to encounter. Hotel Fort Canning Singapore Staycation

For this staycation, my husband and I were assigned a Deluxe Room on the second floor (the hotel only has three guestroom levels). The room seemed a little smaller than usual but the high ceiling helped it feel more open and spacious. Most elements were quite well-maintained but there were some aspects that didn’t live up to hygiene expectations. I guess the main draw of the room would be the freestanding tub in a naturally lit marble-clad bathroom, which makes for pretty luxurious soaking. There are two main swimming pools and one kids’ pool located at the far end of the hotel. These pools are touted to be filled with NASA-system levels of treated mineral water in place of the typical chlorine treatment. Due to covid restrictions, many pathways have been sealed off to better manage the flow of people. #exploresgtogether #staycation Everything about this colonial styled hotel is gorgeous! We were given a web link to register before our check in, and this easily allowed us to pre booked our pool slots. Check in was a breeze at the lobby as compared to other hotels that can often get very crowded and tedious! We were given a beautiful room with full windows facing the pool. It was a breath taking sight! If anything, I am further impressed by the massive bathroom (also with windows facing the pool), lots of natural light and the stand alone bath tub where I spent a lot of my in-room time soaking! In room dining is not just convenient here but SURPRISINGLY very delicious! We had pizza, onion soup and fries for dinner and eggs ben and eggs Royale for bfast! We took some time to explore Fort Canning Park the next day and were mesmerised by the sights at Sang Nila Utama Garden! All in all, this staycation ticks everything on my list of having a good time away from home!

We really enjoyed staying at Fort Canning. They have 3 pools which much convenience for us as we got our toddler to enjoy at the kids pool and the pool also not crowded. love to come back again. Didn't manage to take the pic for the other 2 pools can view my next trip moment for the video.

Super beautiful hotel, bathroom is amazing. Big tub (able to fit 2 pax)! Hotel location is near plaza sing & Dhoby Ghaut mrt but it’s abt 8-15 mins walk to hotel. Arrived at 2.35pm to check in, By 2.53pm I’ve gotten room keys alr! Had a late checkout at 1pm. •Once booking is confirmed you’ll have to fill up a google form for booking of facilities and breakfast booking. *Heard many nice reviews of this place hence I tried out, maybe it’s just not my kind of style. For this price point I felt that I could’ve stayed somewhere else* *notes on why it’s 3 stars* (ROOM) Room is not as clean, soles of the feet will be dirty or dusty. Things in the room are not the cleanest or in best condition. Shower pipe leaks water, table lamp cover has a hole. (Almost everywhere is quite dusty). (B’FAST) Breakfast is not very worth it as it’s semi buffet style, 1 main per pax (a good variety of choices tho). Uunlimited food items are like: Salad, fruits, breads, yogurt, drinks, cereal etc. Breakfast timings avail: 7&8am or 9&10am. (arrived ard 9.15am for breakfast but had to wait for 10 mins or so & we had to share table w someone else as they are overly booked. staffs are not as professional and polite) (POOL) First night swimming booking is 8pm (can’t change earlier as they are fully booked) swimming pool lights were not switched on/ spoilt? An eerie feeling tbh. Next day, the tiles from the pool are literally falling off/ pieces of the tiles are everywhere or just on the ground. (no bathrobes provided) *Not very accessible to head to the gym/pool. Have to walk a few flight of stairs, take a lift to the carpark and enter the club room & take a lift to the pool* 💲Avg. Price - $701 for 2 pax with breakfast. Right next to the National Museum, you can find the entrance to 'Fort Canning Park,' known as the 'green lung of Singapore'. 🌳 I really like the flowers and trees here, especially how they complement the architecture of the National Museum. 🛗 Shortly after entering, there's an escalator that takes you up to the park. This was once the residence of Sir Stamford Raffles and the royal seat of the Sultanate in the 14th century. 🏞 There are many attractions within the park, including the popular 'tree hole' spiral staircase known as the Dragon's Den; Maritime Corner, which marks Singapore's evolution from a transshipment port to an international maritime center; the 19th-century Fort Gate; the Gothic Gates; the Spice Garden; the ASEAN Sculpture Garden; Sang Nila Utama Garden; Jubilee Park; and the Battle Box, which was a military base hidden underground during World War II. 🌠 The surrounding flora is meticulously designed, making every spot comfortable to walk through. Hotel Fort Canning is also located here, and the large lawn in front of it is really comfortable, making for great photos! ▶️Tips: 1. It is recommended to visit the National Museum and then take a stroll in the park, which is only 300m away. Otherwise, visiting the park alone might be quite tiring. 2. Next to the park entrance by the National Museum, there's a café called ONALU, where the salmon burger is delicious and substantial for $13.5 each. 3. The park is quite large, so if you only want to visit the popular tree hole for photos, take the subway to Dhoby Ghaut Station, exit at Exit B, and follow the signs to Fort Canning. Navigate to Fort Canning tunnel, which is behind Hotel Fort Canning. You'll see a small tunnel, go through it, and you'll arrive.

#freehotelstay I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the stay at Hotel Fort Canning was, even if the bathroom was on the balcony. We spent the time exploring everything around the hotel, from the underground bunker at Fort Canning Park to the historical structures built on the hill. It was such an enlightening experience to learn more about Singapore’s war history, beyond its glittering cityscape. We also had a nice picnic on the spacious lawn at Fort Canning Park, and not forgetting to visit the highly Instagrammable underground tunnel for a photo op. The view is great and the scenery is excellent. You can also take a walk at the garden surrounding the hotel. It is definitely a great place to stay in for a peaceful relaxing stay.
