HortPark – Singapore’s Serene Oasis for Nature Lovers and Garden Enthusiasts
If you're craving a peaceful escape that blends nature, design, and wellness into one beautiful experience, HortPark is your go-to destination. Located along Hyderabad Road in the Southern Ridges, this unique 9-hectare gardening hub is more than just a park—it’s a living, breathing showcase of green innovation and tranquil beauty.
From the moment I entered, I was struck by how clean, well-designed, and calming the entire space felt. Unlike your typical city park, HortPark is curated with a purpose. You’re not just walking through nature—you’re learning from it, being inspired by it, and feeling more grounded with every step. The themed gardens, such as the Butterfly Garden, Edible Garden, and Therapeutic Garden, each offer something special. I especially loved the Edible Garden—it sparked a real curiosity in me about urban farming and how much you can actually grow in a small space.
One of the best features of HortPark is its integration with the Southern Ridges trail network. You can start your day here and easily connect to Telok Blangah Hill or Mount Faber via the Forest Walk. The views from the elevated walkways are spectacular, especially in the early morning when the sun filters gently through the canopy.
Best Time to Visit:
Visit early in the morning (7:00 AM – 9:30 AM) or just before sunset (4:30 PM – 6:30 PM). The light is soft, the temperature is pleasant, and the park is less crowded. It’s also the perfect time for photography or quiet reflection.
Bonus Tips:
HortPark is stroller- and wheelchair-friendly.
Bring a water bottle; there are refilling stations around.
The park also hosts weekend gardening workshops—perfect for families or plant lovers.
Nearby cafes on Alexandra Road offer great post-walk coffee options.
