The Hongguangshan Giant Buddha Temple is located in Hongguang Mountain near Kaziwan in the north of Urumqi. The building complex of the Hongguangshan Giant Buddha Temple at the gate of the Giant Buddha Temple was built in 2002 and completed in 2010. It lasted for 8 years and is the largest Han Buddhist temple in Northwest China. The gate of the Great Buddha Temple is 17 meters wide and 15.6 meters high. It is tall and majestic. The front is inscribed by Zhang Cangshu, Vice Chairman of Xinjiang Calligraphers Association, and the back is inscribed by calligrapher Min Yinnan. Hongguang Mountain Sakyamuni Buddha was built on July 19, 2002 and completed at the end of 2004. It lasted for two years. The Buddha statue is 40.8 meters high, 14 meters in diameter, 5.7 meters high for Buddha's hands, and 2.6 meters high for Buddha's ears. Behind the golden statue of Sakyamuni is a group of buildings, covering an area of about 30,000 square meters. The temple sits east to west, mainly including the Mahavira Hall, the Five Hundred Arhat Hall, the Thousand-hand Guanyin Hall, the Dizang Hall, and the Bell and Drum Tower. , wing rooms, etc., the architectural style is roughly the same as that of the mainland Chinese Buddhist temples.
