There are more opportunities to locate pop-up stores and cafes overseas than in Singapore. In Seoul, I have located many special collaborations and I save time from travelling to the actual place. Here at AK Hongdae, there is a Cinnamonroll pop up cafe whereby Cinnamonroll character has been voted the most popular character in the Sanrio rankings. This character is white and blue colours so the entire cafe is designed in these colours. You will have to get a queue ticket and wait for you turn to order food. 🇰🇷 Korean pop idols speciality shop

This is a newly open franchise store selling all Korean idols merchandise. It is different from those Idol merchansides found at myeongdong station. Withmuu carries more merchandise and even concert lights as well. You can get more than just calendars, posters, mugs and etc at Withmuu. At this Withmuu outlet in AK Hongdae, there is a cafe within the store and fans can gather together to unbox their purchases. If you are into Korean pop, you can come over here. This waffle shop is named the waffle shop inside AK mall at Hongdae and they have such delicious waffles for sale. These waffles are small and easy to eat on the go. You can get awesome flavours like cream cheese and seasonal flavours like strawberries. My favourite to go for is almond because I like nutty flavour. It is awesome to be able to travel and I have the opportunities to try out new things and taste new flavours. I never knew waffles can look so cute and taste so delicious. Have you ever been here before? If not, I stringly recommend this place. You can enjoy the original coconut in your loca. The most what I liked here, the special area for you. Even you cannot see others 🤣 It made me feel like I am in home. I mean that much comfort you will experience. The other beautiful thing is the foods. THE Dakgalbi you need to try in Korea

📍Shin Migyeong Hongdae Dakgalbi The food was really tasty! Slightly oily but it was fine because we were all freezing from the winter cold so this was a comfort food. Got the mild spicy - it was good with only just a small kick! (For spice lovers maybe you can up a spice level) Dish originally comes with Tteokbokki already so we added ramen instead of having rice. Portion was huge - ordered a 3 person serving, good enough for 4! The shop opens at 12 and we got there at slightly 15 past 12 and managed to get a seat! Weekend Shopping at Hongdae

#meetseoul One of the popular areas in Seoul, Hongdae on weekends is lively & vibrant with many youngsters and some overseas visitors. You can go cafe-hopping at one of the many cafes around the area, fashion shopping for trendy clothing & accessories, enjoy street performances & more. While at Hongdae, we chanced upon a Tinder Korea pop-up kiosk event for Tinder members. Members can go for the free pop-up photo booth, enjoy & play games for some prizes. There's also a small goodie bag for each member too. We also saw street performances from a guy who performed a song with rap on one of the streets. You can take the subway and alight at Hongik University station and walk around from there. There's quite a lot to see and one can easily spend a whole day there.

🇰🇷🐙 Grilled Octopus

This is quite a popular restaurant in Hongdae and they have grilled pork and octopus too. I like their small octopus so I am going for them. In South Korea, sometimes you have to order a minimum of 2 portions. There is hardly a one person portion in such BBQ shops. But do not worry, you can easily afford 2 pax so please come hungry. The food will also come with side dishes, water and even rice to fill you up. So after you finish eating the seafood, the leftover sauce in the pot can be used to cook fried rice. There are no additional charges and even if you are not eating the rice, you also won’t be able to get a refund. #wheretogo If you love shopping, this is the place you definitely cannot miss out in Korea. This store is located in Hongdae shopping street. The building is in eye catching blue colour and I could see it from afar. The have a huge amazing collection for men, women and kids. This outlet has 3 levels and I had a hard time choosing and controlling myself so that I don’t step out being broke. I could find some affordable and trendy Clothes here. The quality of the clothing is pretty good too. Lucky for a tourist like me, they also help with tax refund in the store. I chance upon this Kozayo hostel in Hongade and found out there is a Millennia coffee place upstairs. It interesting to find out this hostel in nested within a coffee building. There are no elevators here so you will have to climb the stairs. It is also a great place for students because I always see students are hanging out at coffee places to revise and use their laptop. Most of the cafe in Seoul provide free high speed wifi and you can hang out at the cafe with no time restriction. These are unmanned photo studios and you will use the photo machines to take photos of yourself and your friends. There are props and costume for loan and you can use it to take nicer photos. The photos are printed instantaneous and you can also print more copies. There are many different themes for these photo studios and you can find something you like. #seoul Hongdae shopping street has very lively atmosphere. It was quite crowded, filled with both Koreans and foreigners. You can do many things there, shopping, strolling, trying some food, or even watching performances as there are a lot of street musicians and dancers there. For me, it is one of the best places for shopping and eating. The street is very long with different vibes during the day and at night. Great atmosphere! Many shops and styles available for everyone with reasonable price and tax refund available in some stores. You’ll need to spend a couple hours exploring the shops and alleyways as there are some nice hidden gems around the place. It’s great for affordable shopping and for food & beverage. Probably the hottest place is Seoul in terms of nightlife. Clubs, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, everything in one place. The streets are filled with young people from all over the world, students or tourists. Very touristic and lots of energy! You will see a lot of talented music performers.
