Hong Kong Palace Museum-"A Century of French Fashion"
In court dramas, we often see gorgeous and extraordinary French dresses with large skirts🥳 Hidden within the beauty and moving are the tightly wrapped corsets and umbrella-arched skirts💗 It is really a fascinating era!
No need to travel through time and time borders😛 Now you can enjoy these romantic, luxurious and ceremonial French classical costumes at the "Hong Kong Palace Museum"
The Hong Kong Palace Museum recently collaborated with the Paris Museum of Decorative Arts for the first time 🇫🇷 to transport nearly 400 pieces of the museum's precious clothing and jewelry collection from 1770-1910 🫶🏻 to Hong Kong for this "Centennial French Fashion 》Exhibition ~
Almost all of the exhibits are exhibited in Asia for the first time, and some of them have never even been exhibited outside Paris or France 💗 The opportunity is rare~
The exhibition in chronological order allows you to review French men's and women's clothing from the late 18th to early 20th centuries, as well as underwear, jewelry and all kinds of matching 👍🏼 The craftsmanship is incomparably fine 🥰 It turns out that the dresses were made of whalebone ~ and French men Will also wear high heels☺️
Friends who like classical style ~ or like to feel history 💗 don't miss this wonderful and beautiful exhibition!
📍 "French Centennial Fashion" exhibition
Location: Exhibition Hall 9, Palace Museum, Hong Kong

For the first time in Hong Kong, you must visit the West Kowloon Cultural District to see the sea
/
I recently went to Hong Kong with friends 🇭🇰
The sky in Hong Kong these days is really super blue~ Super healing~
I used to like going to Kennedy Town to see the sea 🌊
Today I recommend an even more beautiful photography spot 📷
The scenery is better, and the photos turn out great❗️
/
📍: Hong Kong Palace Museum
In Hong Kong 🇭🇰, there is a museum facing the sea, which took five years to build, drawing inspiration from the architecture and collections of the Forbidden City in Beijing. It integrates ancient and modern, East and West, from inside to outside, from top to bottom, every corner is filled with cultural characteristics. Out of the 1.86 million collections, it took over a year to carefully select each piece, and each one is fascinating.
.
📷Photo spots:
1️⃣ Third and fourth floor observation decks
My favorite photo spot, facing the sea, with blue sky and white clouds, and passing ships that make for great shots with just a snap
2️⃣ Stairs to the fourth floor
The oversized observation staircase, full of design, when the sunlight comes in, the light and shadow make for even better photos, be sure to bring a wide-angle lens, it looks good no matter how you shoot
3️⃣ Third and fourth floor floor-to-ceiling windows
Huge floor-to-ceiling windows, facing the unbeatable view of Victoria Harbour~
4️⃣ The red wall of the Palace Museum exterior
The light and shadow on the red wall create a full atmosphere, it is recommended to wear white clothes~ It looks meaningful no matter how you shoot
/
‼️Photo tips:
🔻 The museum has a total of nine exhibition halls, halls 1-5 are all exhibits on loan from the Forbidden City, and there is an opening of Sanxingdui on September 27, be sure to go see it during the National Day holiday~
🔻 If you want to take photos without people, be sure to enter right at ten o'clock when the museum opens, and head straight to the third and fourth floors
🔻 If you plan to visit during the National Day holiday, be sure to buy tickets online two days in advance, self-service ticketing can avoid queuing
🔻 Closed on Tuesdays, a complete visit to the museum takes about three hours

The aftermath of leaving Hong Kong is even greater than a breakup!
👣 Seven or eight years later, I set foot in this city again, stayed for a full 5 days, and deeply felt the unique charm of Hong Kong! Every day is a 30,000-step walk, non-stop, this trip to Hong Kong is really fun! 🇭🇰👟
📸 Photo check-in
❤️ Kennedy Town:
Charming seascape, start a romantic journey from the place name. At the end of the street is the sea and cruise ships, the sea view and sea breeze of Victoria Harbour are super charming.
❤️ Sai Ying Pun:
Streets with Hong Kong's fireworks, the staggered sense of high and low levels, walk up the slope to take pictures, the end of the road is the sea.
❤️ Tai Ping Shan Street:
Super literary and niche street, quiet and interesting, full of interesting small shops and mural walls, you can try to take a tram after walking!
❤️ University of Hong Kong:
There are romantic mountain road murals and stairs near HKU, which are very artistic.
❤️ Beacon Hill:
Recently super popular climbing spot, people and the panoramic view of Hong Kong are all in one net, the transportation is slightly inconvenient but definitely worth it.
❤️ High Street:
The pink Hong Kong Chongzhen Church of Salvation, it is very artistic to take pictures of the church on the hill.
❤️ Sham Shui Po:
Niche but with a Hong Kong flavor, escape the crowd and feel the old Hong Kong life.
🇭🇰 Hong Kong Citywalk route recommendation
1️⃣ Sai Ying Pun-High Street-University of Hong Kong-Kennedy Town: Walk to Kennedy Town, the city and the sea view are intertwined, and the interspersed scenery is super beautiful.
2️⃣ Jordan-Tsim Sha Tsui-East Tsim Sha Tsui-Avenue of Stars: A bustling street, walk before dusk, enjoy the sunset of Victoria Harbour, definitely not to be missed.
3️⃣ Sheung Wan-Wellington Street-Tai Kwun-Tai Ping Shan Street: The perfect blend of modern Hong Kong and literary Hong Kong, especially during Christmas season, with a strong Christmas atmosphere.

| One-day tour check-in record in Hong Kong
Hey dear fairies! 🌈 Finally arrived in magical Hong Kong! 🇭🇰 Wow wow wow~ It's my first time here, I'm so excited! 🤩
✅Departure
Living in Shenzhen, it's really convenient to enter Hong Kong from the Luohu port! 🚄 The clearance speed is super fast, the whole process is incredibly smooth, I didn't even have time to react, and I was already on the Hong Kong subway! 😆
⚠️Route
Kennedy Town - Central (Art Society) - Gun Factory Street Skybridge - Star Avenue (k11) - Mong Kok
1️⃣-3️⃣ The popular places in Kennedy Town are really good for taking pictures! The basketball court is also a popular check-in spot, super easy to find. After taking pictures, you can go for a walk by the nearby sea, it feels really comfortable! 🌊
4️⃣-7️⃣ Then take the subway to Central for a stroll, it feels a bit like Japan and a bit like Sydney, haha, Hong Kong is really a fusion city. The Art Society and the Gun Factory Street Skybridge are excellent choices for good photos, and the distance is not far, great! 📸👍🏻
8️⃣-9️⃣ Finally, in order not to miss the sunset in Hong Kong, I went to Star Avenue. Here I feel like I'm holding hands with Tony Leung 🥰 (just kidding). Looking at the handprints of the Hong Kong stars, it brings back the beautiful memories of having TVB accompany me when I was a child. Finally, I went to Mong Kok at night, took the world's longest escalator, it feels like a large mall and food street, not much interesting haha... 😅
☑️Summary
Overall, the one-day tour in Hong Kong feels not bad! My friend said that Hong Kong is a place where you don't want to go again after one visit, but I think it's okay! It's suitable for a leisurely stroll to feel the city atmosphere, especially Central and the city center are really like Sydney, walking all the way and feeling, every street is so familiar, it feels a bit like crossing 🕵️♀️.
Fairies, who understands my heart, come and talk about your Hong Kong stories! 🗣️💬

Hong Kong Palace Museum
Definitely a place that has to be visited.
I was a little hesitant when invited to visit the museum with a tour group of people who were much older than I was.
However, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience - I learnt a lot about the history as well as the interactive games/attractions that were included in the tour.
One of the highlights was a picture taking attraction where they would put your faces on “traditional paintings” - and could be played with more than 1 friend. We were also given the opportunity to try digital Chinese calligraphy and practice our brush strokes.
Not forgetting that the view from the sky deck was amazing amazing amazingggggggg!!!! Hong Kong truly is beautiful.

Slice of Royalty in HK
Great array of royal antiques on display. The highlight in my opinion is the good amount of resting outdoor areas between each level. The last exhibition hall is an interactive art gallery with interesting models, there was also a separate gallery that isn't part of the standard ticket. My assumption is that this gallery is a themed experience and changes from time to time. Highly recommended, important side note is that the Museum's interior is quite chilly so either dress appropriately or bring an added sweater etc

The Hong Kong Palace Museum
I managed to visit the newest museum in Hong Kong and it's already one of my fave museums.
The museum itself was well-designed and offered wonderful collections and eye-opening exhibitions. I've learned a lot about the emperors and empresses of China and had fun watching and playing with the games/activities each gallery had.
There's also a viewing deck offering a view of HK Island and the Art Park. It's really worth the visit.
Tips:
1. Bring a good camera/phone for lowlight conditions.
2. Wear a jacket as it gets chilly in the galleries.
3. Bring water. (I brought a lemon tea drink and it's not prohibited).
4. There's a bag check so don't bring sharp objects.
5. Best to go during a public holiday as it's open from 10am until 8pm. I arrived at 3pm and roamed Galleries 1 to 7 for 4 hours.

bright views
Anyone who misses these places in Hong Kong, I will definitely be very sad.
Before, my impression of Hong Kong was "shopping paradise" and the "pearl of the Orient".
Actually, Hong Kong is a city with diverse cultures. It has a unique historical and cultural background. On the streets of Hong Kong, you can always see the intersection of Chinese and Western cultures 🍃 without even trying.
After three years, I set foot on this precious land of Hong Kong again.
Organized this super artistic travel guide, taking you on a city stroll and experiencing the charm of Hong Kong, the art capital 👋🏻
·
I have always believed that to understand a city,
The quickest way is to explore local museums and street alleys.
One has cultural heritage, the other has worldly fireworks. When they merge, they create a blend of ordinary life and strong artistic atmosphere. Just like today, we will recommend two cultural treasures in Hong Kong, allowing us to explore another side of this city of art. / 🚅Itinerary: West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong → Hong Kong Palace Museum → Tai Kwun.
🔻Hong Kong Palace Museum (Figures 1-3, 7-11)
The Hong Kong Palace Museum draws on the architecture and collections of the Beijing Palace Museum, and reinterprets the two-layer exhibition of the Palace Museum culture in a way that combines the ancient and modern, and integrates Chinese and Western cultures. The exhibits are carefully selected by the Hong Kong Palace Museum team and the Beijing Palace Museum, taking more than a year to select from 1.86 million collections. Each piece is splendid. I prefer the "Concrete as Vessel" ceramic exhibition, with its "Qing Glaze Brush Washer" in the color of blue sky and rain, the Ming Chenghua Doucai Cup, the Jingdezhen Blue and White Flat Bottle... Appreciating a piece of ancient porcelain, thinking about a piece of ancient meaning, I am deeply shocked by the beauty of these orderly artifacts and cultures that have been passed down, and I wish I could travel back in time to appreciate the style of the ancients.
Don't miss the observation deck upstairs when you come here, and be sure to stay until night because the night view is too beautiful.
🚇Ke Tudiandian Subway Station Exit J2-
🔻Main Exhibition Hall (Figures 4-5, 12-14)
The Tai Kwun is located in the heart of Central, with a history of nearly 170 years. It mainly consists of 16 historical buildings. Nowadays, it has transformed into a popular spot full of artistic atmosphere. The architectural complex retains its intact buildings and offers free admission for visiting. Moreover, there are periodic exhibitions.
At the Grand Hall, I am more impressed by the charm of architecture. The new and the old, the East and the West, inheritance and innovation, culture and fashion are all organically integrated in these revitalized buildings. You can have a dialogue with the past across time and space, or appreciate trendy art... In the grand architecture and the details of art, you can slowly understand the changes of this city.
🚇: Exit D1 of Island Line /
If you still have time, why not continue to explore the West Kowloon Cultural District, where you can see the first contemporary visual art museum in Asia, M+, which is also one of Hong Kong's important landmarks. The huge exhibition space is enough for you to wander all day.
.
Let's gather in Hong Kong and attend an art appointment.

Where to get your lunch during your visit at HK Palace Museum
Jin Ya Ju Noodle Bar is one of three restaurants located right next to the Hong Kong Palace Museum. It offers chinese noodles dishes, rice dishes, and different beverages, such as milk tea or coffee latte, to choose.
They have seats indoor and outdoor, but if the weather is not good, they will not open the outdoor seats.
Ordered angus beef noodle with sesame sauce and braised beef noodle. Average cost per person is 100-150 HKD.
If you want to visit the restaurant but you haven’t finished inside the museum, you should inform the staff in the museum that you want to return back to the museum, because the restaurant can’t be accessed from inside the museum. the related staff will give you a bracelet and when you enter again from the entrance door, you will need to show your bracelet to their staff.

Refresh your mind and eyes with ancient Chinese art and crafts
I remember seeing one news article about the opening of Hong Kong Palace Museum and immediately got hooked with the idea of visiting the museum soon. As my mom came to visit me in Hong Kong, the first place I think of bringing her to visit is the palace museum.
You will need to book ticket online in advance. Normal ticket costs 50 HKD, which allows you to see 7 thematic gallery, while the other ticket costs 120 HKD and add special exhibition for your visit. I chose the normal one and did spent almost whole day there already.
How to go: from Kowloon Station, follow the sign, and you will reach a minibus stop (74/74S) that will take you to the front of the museum for 4 dollar.
There are a lot to see inside the museum, but my favorite is the part about the forbidden city where they explain detailed layout of forbidden city in Beijing, the life of the emperor and empress dowager, and beautiful ancient objects created far in the past.
I learnt a lot of things, for example about the fact that Qianlong Emperor also did a lot of preservation and study of the previous dynasties relics.
Tips: come early in the morning so you can spend a lot of time there

Hong Kong Palace Museum Special Exhibition
Special Exhibition - Origins of Chinese Civilization showcases jade and pottery artifacts from thousands of years ago. It's hard to imagine how people carved jade thousands of years ago. The overall design of the exhibition is meticulous, with thoughtful lighting and venue design. There is also a 3D screen that uses animation to show the geographical environment and lifestyle of that time.

During my spring break in Hong Kong, I had a wonderful time at the Hong Kong Palace Museum!
Situated in the heart of the West Kowloon Cultural District, this museum takes you on a captivating journey through Chinese art and culture. The entrance fee was quite affordable, catering to visitors of all budgets. As I stepped inside, I was greeted by a remarkable collection of artifacts spanning thousands of years of Chinese history. From ancient ceramics to exquisite paintings, each piece narrated a tale of China's rich cultural legacy. A standout was the special exhibition showcasing treasures from the Forbidden City in Beijing. It was truly breathtaking to see these priceless artifacts up close and learn about their historical importance. After exploring the museum, l wandered through the lush greenery of the nearby Art Park, relishing the stunning views of Victoria Harbour and the iconic Hong Kong skyline. Nearby attractions like the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Avenue of Stars were also easily accessible, providing ample opportunities for further exploration. Overall, my visit to the Hong Kong Palace Museum was an unforgettable experience that deepened my admiration for Chinese art and history.

A wonderful day in Hong Kong
After the high-speed train from Shenzhen pulled into Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, I was pleasantly surprised by the convenience of the amenities available. Within the station, I found a shop for Hong Kong internet SIM cards, ATMs for withdrawing local currency, Octopus ticket machines, restaurants, and a luggage storage service priced at HKD 60.00 for three hours. This single train station truly offers everything you need to navigate Hong Kong without prior preparation from your home country.
I decided to leave my luggage at the storage service on the second floor of Hong Kong West Kowloon Station before heading to Exit E5, which led me to the nearby Hong Kong Palace Museum, just a seven-minute stroll away. Keep in mind that the museum operates from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and is closed every Tuesday. Admission is HKD 50.00 per person, allowing you to explore an impressive collection of artifacts from the National Palace Museum of the Forbidden City in Beijing. Opened in 2022 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's handover, the museum is a relatively new gem.
The Hong Kong Palace Museum showcases over 900 invaluable treasures from the Palace Museum, many of which are being displayed in Hong Kong for the first time, while others have never been publicly exhibited before. The museum frequently hosts special exhibitions highlighting Chinese art and culture, along with artifacts from around the globe. I was particularly captivated by the exquisite items from the Ming and Qing dynasties, including personal treasures of the Qianlong Emperor.
After my visit to the museum, I hopped on the MTR to Tsz Shan Monastery, disembarking at Tai Po Market Station (Exit A3). From there, I took the mini bus number 20B, which took about 15 minutes to reach the monastery. It’s essential to register on their website prior to your visit, as entry operates on a first-come, first-served basis and is free of charge. Dress modestly—no revealing blouses or short skirts for women, and no shorts for men—to ensure a respectful visit.
Inside the Tsz Shan Monastery, you will be calm and peaceful in mind, impressed with the biggest Guanyin outstanding in front of you. And let's walk into the precious Buddhist Art Museum displays the precious Buddhist artefacts and objects from across the globe. I'm really impressed with this place and want to come back to visit again.

Discovering the Hong Kong Palace Museum: A Cultural Gem
If you're a lover of history, art, and culture, the **Hong Kong Palace Museum** should be at the top of your must-visit list. Located in the West Kowloon Cultural District, this stunning museum showcases an incredible array of Chinese art and cultural relics, offering a glimpse into the rich history of China’s royal dynasties.
**A World-Class Museum Experience**
Opened in 2022, the Hong Kong Palace Museum was developed in collaboration with the Palace Museum in Beijing, and it features over 900 priceless artifacts on loan from the Forbidden City. The museum’s modern design is a striking contrast to the ancient treasures housed inside, blending traditional Chinese elements with contemporary architecture.
As a solo traveler, you’ll appreciate the museum’s spacious, well-organized galleries, making it easy to take your time and immerse yourself in the exhibits. The museum is divided into thematic sections, each exploring a different aspect of Chinese culture—from ancient ceramics and jade artifacts to imperial paintings and calligraphy. Each piece tells a story, reflecting the art, beliefs, and innovations of China’s rulers throughout the centuries.
**Must-See Exhibits**

The Hong Kong Palace Museum: A Stunning Showcase of Culture, Art, and History
Located in the West Kowloon Cultural District, the Hong Kong Palace Museum features seven permanent exhibitions and two rotating exhibitions (additional fees apply).
The museum itself is a work of art, with breathtaking craftsmanship displayed in an extraordinary building. It is a wonderful place to visit and a true gem of Hong Kong.
The museum offers a wealth of exhibits on Chinese culture and history, showcasing a wide variety of Chinese royal artifacts, the establishment of museums and their collections after the founding of the People's Republic of China, and works collected by important figures. There are also seasonal exhibitions. The items on display are of very high standards, authentic, and valuable. Most of the items are being exhibited in Hong Kong for the first time, and some have never been publicly displayed before. The museum is not only beautifully designed, but the artifacts on display are also spectacular. Even in the contemporary art gallery, there are many things worth seeing. The museum is very impressive, modern, and yet evokes memories of China.
You can also enjoy panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong skyline. Each floor has platforms that allow visitors to take in the beautiful scenery, including nearby attractions such as M+, the Xiqu Centre, the Art Park, and Freespace, which are part of the city's artistic world.

The 'A Century of French Fashion' exhibition is divided into five sections, focusing on the history of French fashion from 1770 to 1910. The exhibition showcases the most representative costumes of each era, explaining how social, cultural, and technological factors influenced the evolution of fashion trends 💃.
Section 1: Splendid Court (1770 - 1790)
In 18th century France, taste led all of Europe 😎! Exquisite clothing was not only a symbol of status but also an excellent display of art. Marie Antoinette, the fashion leader, every decoration on her was the ultimate pursuit of beauty 😜.
Section 2: Reason and Sensibility (1810 - 1830)
The simplicity after the French Revolution contrasted sharply with the luxurious court attire of the Napoleonic era 🤩. Empress Josephine's neoclassical high-waisted dress became a fashion icon for early 19th-century women 👏.
Section 3: Tradition and Innovation (1850 - 1860)
The prosperity of Paris in the 1850s brought fashion innovation 😃. Newly invented synthetic dyes and steel hoop skirts made women's skirts lighter and more colorful 🌈. Empress Eugénie's fashion influence promoted French manufacturing and international trade.
Section 4: Opulence (1880)
Focusing on evening dresses designed by 'the father of haute couture' Charles Frederick Worth (1825 - 1895) 👗.
Section 5: Belle Époque (1890 - 1910)
At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the rise of socialization and Art Nouveau brought new vitality to fashion 💖. Fashionable women showcased their graceful figures with flowing silk net dresses and nature-inspired jewelry 😘.
Tips
1. Most of the exhibition area is dimly lit, making it great for viewing but a bit challenging for photography 😅😅. If you have a camera, be sure to bring it 📷!
2. The exhibition hall is quite cold 🥶, so remember to bring a jacket. In theory, a ticket allows only one entry, except for restroom breaks 🚻, just inform the security at the entrance.
3. Scan the QR code at the information desk for a free audio guide. It's best to bring noise-canceling headphones for an immersive experience (and not disturb others, as many people use public speakers in the museum 😒).
4. With tickets for Galleries 1 to 9, you can get a paper doll of the French fashion exhibition at the staff counter on the fourth floor 🤗.

Encountering art, full of heartbeats
I have visited the Forbidden City in Beijing, which is magnificent and unforgettable. I have long wanted to visit the newly opened Hong Kong Palace Museum (actually, it's not that new, I just haven't been there yet)
📍Location: West Kowloon Cultural District
🚗Transportation:
After landing at Hong Kong Airport✈️, take the A11 Citybus🚌 directly to the West Kowloon Palace Museum, and walk across the overpass for five minutes to reach it. There are signposts along the way, so it's quite convenient
👍️Recommended reasons:
|No need to exchange tickets at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, just scan the QR code to enter. Large suitcases need to be stored, and the fee is charged by the hour.
|During the visit, some exhibition halls were not open, and I only saw four halls in total (with a regular ticket). At the entrance, the red walls of the Beijing Palace Museum are used, which are very eye-catching and beautiful! It's also great for taking photos!
🎟️Ticket information:
This time I went to Hong Kong City walk and just happened to visit.
I bought the tickets🎫 online in advance (regular tickets for Halls 1-7, other special exhibition halls require additional tickets, which are more expensive, such as the Yuanmingyuan Exhibition, French Art Exhibition, etc.).
💗Other tips:
The air conditioning inside the museum is set very low, so it's recommended to bring a long-sleeve shirt in advance.
Some items are transported from the Beijing Palace Museum, and some are donated by collectors from various sectors of Hong Kong society. They are worth a good look!
