[2024 Taiyuan Stay] Travel Guide for Home Inn (Guxian City Branch) (Updated Dec)
Taishan Travel Guide
Climb Taishan and visit Longquan Temple on the weekend. Enter the gate and follow the mountain stream all the way up. You will see cute squirrels and the "Shouting Spring" that sprays higher the louder you shout. Stroll through the mountains, enjoy the distant view of the colorful forest, and admire the vibrant autumn colors up close. Finally, be amazed by the pure copper underground palace and hanging sculptures of Longquan Temple!
This was my first time visiting Taishan. I originally just wanted to see the Tang Dynasty underground palace, the five-story treasure box, and the relics of Longquan Temple. I didn't expect to find such a lush place surrounded by mountains and rivers, with Longquan Temple hidden in the mountainside. I was stunned by the magnificent copper decorations in the underground palace. I didn't expect to find such a beautiful copper palace so close to home. In the center of the copper palace is a relic pagoda, with a modern reclining Buddha statue below, as well as Tang Dynasty treasure boxes made of stone, wood, copper, silver, and gold. Each one is exquisitely shaped and represents the superb craftsmanship of the Tang Dynasty.
Then I visited the hanging sculptures in the Guanyin Hall and the Mahavira Hall of Longquan Temple. I have never seen the hanging sculptures of Xiaoxitian, but I was dazzled by the hanging sculptures in the Guanyin Hall of Taishan. There are 79 Buddha statues and hanging sculptures in such a small space, and the Avalokitesvara statue in the middle is extremely rare! In addition to the statues of Sakyamuni, the Medicine Buddha, and Amitabha, the Mahavira Hall also houses the statues of the two Bodhisattvas Ananda and Kasyapa, as well as the Five Hundred Arhats.
Unfortunately, I took the wrong path and didn't reach the top of Taishan.
I also recommend the Home Inn Selected Ancient County Botanical Garden Hotel. There is a free parking lot in the courtyard, and the security guard was very enthusiastic about directing parking. The front desk staff also gave a detailed introduction to the surrounding attractions and snacks. The room decorations are also very exquisite. Here are two photos of the hotel room I took. You can use them as a reference if you want to visit.
