📸: In front of the theater, second-floor waiting hall, second-floor balcony. On New Year's Eve, we replaced the Spring Festival Gala with The Phantom of the Opera. Since our seats were on the side, we arrived early for convenience. It's close to the National Gallery, so if you have no plans in the afternoon, consider visiting the gallery and grabbing some snacks nearby before heading to the theater.
❗️ It's recommended to review the story of The Phantom of the Opera beforehand, as the warm indoor temperature and dim lighting can make you sleepy.
1⃣ We chose these seats in the Royal Circle because they are the cheapest on the second floor and offer a clear view of the performers. You can make eye contact with the actors during their movements, and many monologues are directed towards this area. The performance is engaging throughout, with excellent stage design! There are realistic effects with blanks and flower combinations, enhancing the audience's experience.
2⃣ You can see the entire process of the large chandelier falling from the first-floor stand. Being in the front row, there's a handrail to lean on if you get tired, maximizing comfort!
3⃣ During intermission, I bought a The prim-a donna, which tastes a bit like champagne, with a low alcohol content and great flavor, earning a five-star rating.
🎫 Tips: We bought our tickets online a month in advance, which was much cheaper, and we got satisfactory seats. However, the two women in front of us bought their tickets on-site, likely due to available seats, so it's still recommended to buy in advance. Before entering, find your ticket in your email and show it as usual.
📷 Tips: Many people, both locals and tourists, were taking photos at the entrance, so we took a few as well. The first-floor lobby sells small cultural products, and there's a rose wall with classic props from The Phantom of the Opera on the second floor. The terrace next to the bar offers a beautiful night view, perfect for a drink if you arrive early, and ideal for couples to take photos.
