#springblossom Blessed with very good weather, the blue sky and Kanmon Strait, tulips, cherry blossoms, it was the best location. There were a lot of people with their dogs 🐕 I was taking pictures. Despite the weekdays, I waited for 30 minutes for many cars to enter the parking lot. But it was worth the wait☺️A nice little park atop Hinoyama. There is a small gift shop, viewing platform and eating area at the top also. There is a cable car line up to the top, but in all my visits I never used it. The view from the top of the mountain is pretty spectacular. You can take in the whole of the Kanmon strait, looking across to Kyushu. You also get great views towards Shimonoseki city and Korea (though obviously Korea isn't visible). There is also what I assume to be an old artillery fort with old bunkers and gun emplacements that you can explore. Quite creepy at night.

Highlights: Hinoyama Park is a park at the top of Mount Hinoyama, overlooking the Kanmon Strait. A ropeway leads from near the Kanmon Pedestrian Tunnel entrance to the mountain-top park where an observation deck allows visitors to enjoy panoramic views of Shimonoseki and Moji across the strait as well as of the nearby mountain ranges. Those visiting by car can also drive up the mountain.
