In one of the Japanese view, this castle is obviously the best castle in Japan. The white walls are so beautiful so that you can watch transparent from Himeji station. Himeji station is about an hour from Kobe station, 90 minutes from Osaka , 2 hours from Kyoto. If you go to Kyoto or Osaka , I highly recommend you to visit. Inside of the castle is a museum. Himeji Castle and its Gardens 🏯

My first castle visit to Himeji Castle during my trip in Japan. There were so many levels in the Castle which you can explore, all the while learning about its history such as it's past occupants/families. Throughout the castle levels (especially at the top), I got to take in the beautiful scenery overseeing the castle's surrounding architecture and its gardens (including the city). Even the entrance and path leading up to the Castle are lined by cherry blossom trees in bloom during the spring period we visited. But if you love greenery/nature the Koko-en garden beside Himeji castle is also a must go with tranquil rivers and a colourful scene painted by a large array of plants and flowers 💮 Tickets are needed for both the castle and garden but can be purchased as a bundle. Just a word of caution, the steps as you traverse the Castle are quite steep and small so be careful as you try to climb them. #himeji #castle #history #garden #spring

It is built on top of the biggest, most impressive dry stonewall I've ever seen. The building itself brings thoughts of Samurai. Used many times in films from Kurosawa's films to James Bond. This can be reached in a 15-to-20-minute walk or a five-minute bus ride from Himeji train station. Visiting Himeji Castle was an amazing experience 🏯. Also known as the 'White Castle,' it is one of the best-preserved castles in Japan. The grand architectural design highlights the beauty of traditional details, while the surrounding towers and buildings offer stunning views of the landscape. Wandering through the vast courtyards and serene gardens enhances the experience, making a visit to the castle a journey through history and architectural beauty.

#japantrip So, I made a day drip from Osaka to himeji. The castle is about 20 mins on foot once you get down at the station. But you already get spectacular views of it while you're walking towards it. I think as much as overwhelming it can be from a distance. It becomes underwhelming when you go inside and though the experience of navigating through huge crowds. Having said so, it is a landmark and an important piece of history that is not to be missed. It is Japan’s best-preserved feudal fortress, one of the twelve original castles that survives today. The restored version of Himeji Castle is over 400 years old, dating back to 1609. It was never attacked, nor has it been destroyed by natural disasters. This historical legacy coupled with its beauty. isited yet another castle 🏰 in Japan! It’s the #HimejiCastle ! It was a gloomy day but I managed to see so many autumn leaves 🍁 and also seen my first ever peach 🌸 blossoms. It was a arduous journey up the castle with so many winding pathways and steep stairs but the view was worth it. 😍
