Mount High West in Hong Kong Island is one of the most rewarding hikes I've ever been on. The hiking trail to the peak of Mount High West is situated along the Harlech Road and Lugard Road Circular Walk, The Peak. I started the circular trail from Harlech Road which was nearer to the entrance of High West. From there it was a quick 30-minute ascent to the summit of Mount High West which is approximately 494 meters above sea level. The 650-m ascent involves steep steps but offers rewarding views along the way. The weather was gloomy on the day of my visit but I was blessed as the sun made a brief appearance when I was at the viewing point on the summit. We enjoyed the breeze on the mountain, took a rest and took pictures, and then walked down the mountain for another hour. The road was easy to walk. 💙There is an observation deck on the top of the mountain, and there is a sign commemorating the date of the climb.
