The village is built on the mountain and by the water, with a stepped layout, distinct layers, and a staggered layout. The buildings are Tujia stilted buildings, and the village is named after the You River, the mother river of the Tujia people, which flows through the village. Hewan Mountain Village was built in 1370, the third year of the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, and has a history of more than 600 years. It is mainly inhabited by the Bai family of the Tujia ethnic group, with a long history and culture and pleasant natural scenery.
