An afternoon in Hellabrunn Zoo
My husband love fishes and animals. Whenever we travel to a new destination and if the time permits, we make sure to visit the zoo or an aquarium park/attraction in the area.
With our afternoon free upon our arrival in Munich, we decided to check out the Hellabrunn zoo. It was very nice that many of the enclosures are cageless and with the cool autumn air and not so crowded time of the season, we truly enjoyed walking around the park observing beautiful animals from different parts of the world.
I remember it was such a welcome and relaxing treat after a day’s flight travel and before we begin our (‘hectic’) tour of Munich 😊🍂

Hellabrunn Zoo, located along the banks of the Isar River, is one of Europe’s most renowned zoological gardens. What sets it apart is its design as a “geo-zoo,” where animals are grouped according to their native regions, creating a more naturalistic environment for both the animals and visitors. The zoo is home to over 750 species from around the world, including elephants, polar bears, and exotic birds. The lush, park-like setting makes it a wonderful place for a family outing or a leisurely day surrounded by nature. Hellabrunn Zoo also focuses heavily on conservation and education, offering visitors an opportunity to learn about wildlife preservation efforts. It’s a fantastic place to document your experience with nature while escaping the urban hustle, making it an ideal stop for your travel journal.
