After the Rain Hegu Mountain Retreat | I took the best photos of my life at this homestay!
🌁 Decor style: Newly opened in 2025, this Tang-Song dynasty-inspired homestay exudes classical charm and is incredibly photogenic.
🏘️ Room type/layout: Stayed in the Four Seasons room facing a bamboo forest—absolutely stunning.
🍽️ Dining highlights: The homestay’s own "Hegu Restaurant" has a beautiful name and serves delicious home-style dishes. Highly recommend the glutinous rice cakes!
🛏️ Stay experience: Features a private hot spring, thoughtful details, excellent service, and a breakfast spread so lavish it feels beyond a homestay.
🚘 Transportation: Located at the foot of the mountain, next to the Giant Panda Base, and less than a 10-minute drive from Qingchengshan High-Speed Rail Station. Plenty of great eateries within a 5-minute walk.
💰 Average price: The Four Seasons room I stayed in was 1000+ CNY—worth every penny! Free activities like yoga, meditation, and Shenshi tea sessions keep you busy all day [Awkward]. You can also enjoy tea in their tea house.
💗 Other tips:
The homestay is breathtaking after rain—its reddish-brown main color contrasts vividly with the fresh bamboo forest and overcast sky, creating a dramatic backdrop for portraits.
Camera: Sony with 24-70mm lens, F2.8.
Best photo spots:
1. Front corridor of the main building, with green maple potted plants as foreground.
2. Shoot from the second-floor terrace, capturing the first-floor corridor for a grand top-down view.
3. Bamboo forest walkway behind the second floor, with woods/bamboo enhancing a serene vibe.
4. Front area of the first-floor restaurant—perfect for sipping tea and listening to the rain. Wear modern Chinese-style outfits for the best shots.
Highly recommended [Heart]
