Helicopters over volcanos
#grouptravel
Helicopter tours are everywhere on the Big Island Hawaii. But it really can be a special experience to do this with your group or family. Our helicopter held 6 guests so not the largest available but a comfortable size for our group. Flying over the volcanoes and coastline and sharing in the excitement with my special people was something I will never forget.
Getting There - Our helicopter left from Hilo airport. Next to the commuter terminal. If you stay on the Kona side of the island it’s about a 1.5 hr drive over the saddle road (one of big islands best maintained roads)
Attractions - volcanoes, lava devastation, waterfalls, desert and rainforests are all items you will see in the hour long flight. After the helicopter ride you can also make your way to Volcano National Park for an up close look at the sites.
Cost - $$$$ the helicopter ride was about $250AUD each and worth every cent. Or entry to Volcanoes National Park is $30 for 7 days.
Food & Restaurants - Volcano House
Shopping - numerous gift shops throughout the visitor centre and volcano house.

💞Reasons to Recommend:
The Hawaiian Islands in the United States are a tropical paradise known for their stunning natural beauty, unique culture, and diverse activities.
Geography and Climate
• The Hawaiian Islands are located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. There are eight main islands: Hawaii (also known as the Big Island), Maui, Oahu, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai, Niihau, and Kahoolawe.
• The climate is tropical, with warm temperatures year-round. Trade winds bring a pleasant breeze and keep the islands comfortable. However, weather can vary depending on the location and elevation.
Natural Beauty
• The islands are famous for their beautiful beaches with soft sand and clear blue waters. Some of the most popular beaches include Waikiki Beach on Oahu and Kaanapali Beach on Maui.
• There are also volcanic landscapes, including active volcanoes on the Big Island. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park offers the opportunity to see lava flows, steam vents, and craters.
• Waterfalls, rainforests, and cliffs add to the natural beauty of the islands. Waimea Canyon on Kauai is often called the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific."
Activities
• Water activities are abundant, such as surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and swimming. The warm waters are home to a variety of marine life, including colorful fish, sea turtles, and dolphins.
• Hiking is a popular way to explore the islands' interior. There are trails through rainforests, up volcanoes, and along coastlines.
• Golfing is also a popular activity, with many world-class golf courses on the islands.
• Cultural activities include attending luaus, which are traditional Hawaiian feasts with music and dance. Visiting historical sites and museums can also provide insights into Hawaiian history and culture.
Culture
• Hawaiian culture is rich and unique. The Hawaiian language, music, dance, and art are all integral parts of the islands' heritage.
• The concept of aloha, which encompasses love, kindness, and hospitality, is an important part of Hawaiian culture.
• Traditional Hawaiian crafts such as lei making, wood carving, and weaving are still practiced.
In conclusion, the Hawaiian Islands offer a perfect combination of natural beauty, outdoor activities, and cultural experiences. Whether you're looking for relaxation on the beach, adventure in the wilderness, or a taste of Hawaiian culture, the islands have something for everyone.

Not only is there a two-day tour of the Big Island of Hawaii
My goodness‼️ Who would have thought that the Big Island of Hawaii could be so much fun? There's not only volcanoes but also waterfalls, turtle beaches, and plenty of water activities. Hurry up and get it planned!
Day 1 Atlantis Submarine - Mauna Kea Volcano Stargazing
A must-experience signature activity on the Big Island, though a bit pricey. Follow the submarine down dozens of meters under the sea, with no discomfort, and rich marine life, complete with explanations.
In the evening, you can go stargazing at Mauna Kea. Coming to this volcano is like arriving on Mars, so cool! At night, you can see many stars, as if you are in the Milky Way.
Day 2 Rainbow Falls - Punalu'u Black Sand Beach - Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
The first stop on the way to the volcano park is Rainbow Falls. The waterfall is not big, surrounded by tropical plants. Whether you can see a rainbow depends on your luck.
Next, head to the black sand beach, where many people snorkel, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard. It is also a famous turtle beach locally, and you really can see turtles!
Of course, the last stop is the volcano park, where you can hike and see the state bird of Hawaii. In the evening, the volcano begins to appear faintly, so magical.
🏫Accommodation Tips:
The Big Island is a magical area, with one city sunny all year round and the other rainy.
Although Hilo is closer to the volcano, I still recommend staying in sunny Kona. It's relatively more bustling here, with more accommodation options. We stayed in a whole Airbnb for less than $600 a night.

Hawaii, the unique richness and diversity of the Big Island
The Big Island is the largest island in the Hawaiian archipelago, with a large area and sparse population.
There is an airport on each side of the Big Island, east and west. To enjoy both sides, you can enter from Hilo and exit from Kona. There will be corresponding cross-city car rental fees.
The main attractions on the east side are the Volcano Park, South Point Park, black/green sand beaches, and waterfalls.
It is recommended to stay in Kupukupu in the Volcano Village on the east side. It is a two-bedroom detached villa. After booking on the official website, you will receive the passwords for entering the gate and the room. You can check in by yourself with the password. We never saw the landlord or the service person. Everyone is worry-free.
The room is located in a tropical rainforest in the village, and the air is really good. The gardens in the front and back are carefully arranged.
The entrance fee to the Volcano Park is valid for 7 days, which is a conscience price.
The two active volcanoes on the Big Island - Kilauea and Mauna Loa are considered the safest volcanoes in the world.
Every eruption increases the area of the Big Island. The cooled lava flows into the sea and forms a new piece of land.
If you don't catch the volcano eruption, there will be lava hiking, and you can also take a helicopter to see the entire east coast.
The most common sight on the Big Island is such a piece of land formed by cooled black lava. Witnessing destruction, creation, and rebirth with your own eyes can make you respect nature even more.
Such a wide expanse of black lava, naturally cooled into different shapes, occasionally sprouting green life, some are crispy when stepped on. Following this road on the left side of the park entrance to the end is the Sea Arch. Going straight, you can see the smoking volcano and smell the sulfur.
Star gazing at the top of the mountain is one of the most famous activities of Mauna Kea. The top of Mauna Kea is recognized as the best astronomical observatory site in the world. The top of the mountain is above 40% of the atmosphere and 90% of the water vapor, so it has exceptionally clear star images. In addition, the peak is above the inversion layer, and there can be 300 clear nights a year. At the same time, the low latitude of 20 degrees north latitude can almost see the sky of the northern and southern hemispheres.
So that night, we were completely shocked by the starry sky and the clear Milky Way.
Volunteers on the top of the mountain will bring out telescopes for everyone to watch. The starry sky that you can see when you look up is unforgettable.
The scenery on the mountain is also good, just like the scenery of the grassland. There are also some craters on the top of the mountain. Climbing to the top of the mountain, the clouds are under your feet, and you marvel at the magic of nature again.
The temperature on the top of the mountain is low, so you need to wear a down jacket. If you don't bring children and have a four-wheel drive, you can go to the higher mountain top to see the observatory.
Going to Kona, you will pass by the black sand beach, green sand beach, and South Point Park.
The scenery of South Point Park is also good. Along the way, you will pass through grasslands, free-range cattle and sheep, brave divers, and beautiful rainbows.
The main component of the green sand on the green sand beach is olivine. The locals say they are the tears of the volcano goddess.
If the sun is just right, the beach will be greener. It is said that there are now two green sand beaches in the world. You can only get there by local pickup trucks, a piece of primitive and undeveloped grassland scenery.

Romantic Hawaii
Hawaii Island, also known as 'Volcano Island', is a growing giant compared to other islands. It is said that the volcano goddess Pele lives on Hawaii Island. The island is composed of five volcanoes, two of which are active volcanoes ready to erupt, namely Mauna Loa and Kilauea.
The Big Island is a very interesting place. There, tourists can ski on the mountain, surf in the sea, and then go to the National Volcano Park to see the volcano in the same day. If we measure the height of a mountain range not from sea level, but from the foot of the mountain to the top, the highest mountain range in the world is on the Big Island of Hawaii, which allows Hawaiians to ski in the tropics. But the main reason tourists from all over the world go to the Big Island is to visit the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to see the volcano erupt.
Hawaii Island mainly produces Hawaiian nuts and Kona coffee as the main agricultural business. Let's go with our friends to enjoy the warmest moment in life! Come and join us

This is probably the most visited spot on the island, and we naturally can't be excused, and put it at the first stop. The only volcanic park in the world that can be reached by car, the threshold is very low. Almost all the "attractions" can be driven by car, even for the elderly and wheelchair users. When you enter the door, you should first look for the visitor center, find the visitor center, find the visitor center, and talk about important things three times!
Take the map and take it with you. The boards on the wall are very easy to use. Whether you only have 2 hours or a whole day, you can find a suitable route for you!

Tourist attractions with "World Heritage" are a must-see card.
At 6:33 on May 5 this year, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake occurred near the Hawaiian Islands, and another volcanic eruption in the Kilauea volcano in the Volcano National Park caused lava to flow into residential areas, and the erupting smoke also forced China. The flight to Los Angeles in the United States was diverted. As the first scenic spot in Hawaii, the Hawaiian Volcano National Park, which was listed as a World Heritage Site, was also forced to close the door.
Fortunately, the volcanic park was reopened on September 22, and in early December we visited this world heritage of "rebirth".
The tour guide recommends a volcanic tour from the Kilauea Visitor Center
, where a 20-minute movie showing the volcanic park is played every hour, and the center continues to broadcast. This year's volcanic eruption video.
Evaluation of World Heritage
captured happiness.
The Hawaii Volcano Park has two main attractions, one is the perennial crater, the famous Mauna Loa Volcano, which is said to have been 700,000 years old; the other is a depressed crater, many people Walk inside this extinct crater. I first drove to the crater near the fire, carrying my plane and camera and walking towards the visitor center. The first thing I introduced was a notice: a white paper was painted on a drone. Fork, that is, aerial photography is not allowed. I really have 10,000 grass horses running in my heart. Since it is not allowed to use the camera to shoot the volcano in parallel with the tourists, you can only see the smoke in the daytime. In the evening, it is estimated that you can shoot the fire with the telephoto. However, I was hit by the inability to take aerial photography and never came.
