However, to truly experience its magic, you must visit at night. As the sun sets, the atmosphere of the old town transforms into another world. Colorful lanterns are lit up all around, especially near the lake. Lanterns hanging from trees, bridges, and shops emit a warm, romantic, and tranquil glow. One activity not to be missed is a nighttime boat ride around the lake. Small wooden boats are available for a slow, scenic ride amidst the beautiful floating lanterns. Some visitors choose to release lanterns and make wishes, adding to the memorable experience. Besides the boat rides, the surrounding area features a night market, souvenir shops, charming cafes, and live music to enjoy. Strolling or relaxing in the old town at night is perfect for couples, groups of friends, or even solo travelers, as the atmosphere here is friendly and safe.

I went to a delicious, incredibly popular banh xeo restaurant in the Old Quarter that's been awarded a Michelin Bib Cumin. 😋 The restaurant has two floors and is always packed with customers. 🈵 It's crowded, but the turnover is fast! HOAN KIEM LAKE ~ this is the center of the Old quarter. quiet and serene yet busy part of the town because a lot of tourists flocks here. people do brisk walk, some run, some just sit of the banks of the lake sipping a cold soda or cut up fruits that you can buy on the vendors around the lake. 2. ST. JOSEPH CATHEDRAL ~ this drawing on canvass like church is one of the most visited site here in Hanoi. it is built in 1865, old, charming, functioning catholic church that became a tourist spot. 3. TRAN QUOC PAGODA ~ this is also near the Hoan Kiem lake (on the other side of the lake). absolutely free, but you have to follow the dress code when visiting. 4. TRAIN STREET ~ watch the train pass by you an inch away on your face 😜...the train street is free, but you have to buy any drink on this little cafes lying on the side on the tracks (so you can get a better selfie or video from the train passing by you)

Price: 60,000 dong I really love this one. the smoky soup is to die for. 😍 2. EGG COFFEE in CAFE GIANG ~ thick frothee power pack sweet espresso 😍😍😍... my first time trying it from the best place where it originates in 1946, Cafe Giang. Price: 50,000 dong 3. CHICKEN PHO ~ pho is the one of Vietnam's staple food. you can get different variants such as beef, pork but i prefer the chicken pho. White vermicelli noodles soaked in this rich soup (probably boiled for 4-6hours), its really good. 😍 You can find pho every street.corner of Hanoi. Price: 60,000 dong 4. KING ROTI ~ these are sweet breads baked perfectly. a little crisp outside and oozing of flavor inside. it got 3 variants, butter, chocolate, matcha. Price: 20,000 dong each 5. It's usually full, with lots of people walking by. 🦪 The menu features a variety of steamed snails, including big snails, small snails, and steamed clams. They're served with a large bowl of dipping sauce, similar to a herbal soup, complete with chili, lemongrass, ginger, and a small lime or orange, along with a sharp dipping sauce. 🦪 The flavor is delicious and easy to eat. The snails are incredibly sweet and not fishy at all. Hanoi gives us a vibe similar to Tainan 🤣. The first stop was Tran Quoc Pagoda, but we didn’t check the opening hours and found out it was closed for lunch, so we just took a photo at the entrance and left. We then took a Grab ride to enjoy some steamed rice rolls. After that, we started walking, passing by many Michelin-recommended restaurants along the way. Our next stop was Dong Xuan Market. The market is huge and has a strong local atmosphere, but since we didn’t plan to shop, we just took a quick stroll and left. Then we arrived at the Old Quarter, specifically the 36 Streets area. We didn’t quite understand the charm of this place, maybe because we didn’t do enough research beforehand? Gradually, we made our way to the Old Town area, where we visited St. Joseph’s Cathedral and Hoan Kiem Lake. Walking along Hoan Kiem Lake, we spotted a large, beautiful, all-white Uniqlo store. It’s a great place to take a break, enjoy some air conditioning, and browse around. Afterward, we continued walking to the Hanoi Opera House, which exudes a foreign and exotic vibe. Walking through the streets of Hanoi, you not only feel the strong Vietnamese atmosphere but also experience the chaotic and terrifying traffic. Crossing the streets here is a real challenge 🤣.

"Alluvia Chocolate" Chocolate shop in Hanoi🍫 There are so many chocolates in cute colorful packaging in the store that it's hard to decide which one to buy✨ They also offer tastings, so you can find your favorite flavor while tasting! I decided to buy a box that holds 10 small chocolates. If you buy 5 boxes, you get 1 box for free, which is a very nice service☺️ Given the cost of living in Vietnam, it's a high-end chocolate🍫, but I recommend it to those who like chocolate with a moderate sweetness that you can really taste the cacao! 💞Reason for recommendation: Some of the staff can speak Japanese! "Thang Trần Quán" I went to this restaurant, which is not famous. A restaurant with friendly young staff. Bun cha, which is said to be popular in Hanoi🍜 It was a dish like tsukemen, with rice noodles, something like a hamburger steak grilled over charcoal, carrots, cucumbers, sweet and sour sauce, and herbs! Even though it was before opening time, they let me in and offered me tea and a towel💕 The gentle and kind front desk staff spoke to me in English and the reception was over. I asked for a 60-minute foot massage🦶 and went to my room with the therapist. I started with a foot bath with bath salts, and they used the aroma oil I chose to gently massage my tired legs! At the end, I was stretched all over my body like a traditional Thai massage! The price was reasonable and the room was clean!
