An UNESCO awarded Ancestral Temple
Han Jiang Teochew Ancestral Temple a Chinese Taoist temple located along Lebuh Chulia in George Town. It's the finest and most exquisite Chinese temple of early 20th century. This ancestral temple is owed by Penang Teochew Association which was formed in 1855 by six Teochew migrants.
The original Han Jiang Teochew Ancestral temple was in the form of 'Si Dian Jing', or four-point gold. This is a quadrangle design with an inner courtyard, or atrium. Over the years, the Han Jiang Ancestral Temple has suffered from long years of wear and tear as well as neglect, a restoration project was held in July 2002. In 2006, it received an UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation.
I really admires the exquisite sculptures on the roof and the colourful ornaments. Open daily from 8.30am - 4.30pm and free admission.

very old temple build in 1870, so wow just i cant imagine how many a history had seen by this temple and written by it, with 249 years old building but still great stand up with the beautiful herself, the painting and the other artefacts really priceless. and this temple open for public on early morning.#
