Gyeongpo Terrace is a pavilion located on the shore of Gyeongpo Lake. It is famous for watching the moon during the Lantern Festival on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month. Gyeongpodae has 6 houses on the front and 5 on the side, with a total of 28 pillars. Inside, there is "Gyeongpo Tai Fu", "The sky is more distant because of leisure and ease, and the moon is more brilliant because of its clearness and brightness." There are 12 pavilions around Gyeongpo Terrace, including Jinlan Pavilion, Jinghu Pavilion, Fanghai Pavilion and Haiyun Pavilion. The surroundings are quiet, as if you are in a natural art museum. Every year in early to mid-April, a 4.3km beautiful cherry blossom festival is held around Gyeongpodae around Gyeongpo Lake. Cherry blossoms, forsythia and daffodils form a sea of flowers. During the festival, various cultural and artistic activities are also held. In the local area, you can also taste special local snacks such as thatched soft tofu and potato ball soup. Gyeongpodae was designated as Gangwon-do Intangible Cultural Property No. 6 on December 16, 1971.
