The historical sites of the Silla Dynasty scattered throughout Gyeongju are divided into 5 districts according to their characteristics, and Gyeongju Historic Areas refers to these 5 districts collectively.☺️ I visited in the evening to avoid the hot day, but the night view was so beautiful. The village situated near the tomb complex is a traditional village with old hanok style houses. These houses were built during the Josoen dynasty and most are still preserved till date. The work Kyochon, meaning school village, implies that the village surrounding the school which is a Confucian Academy. There also house a reputable family of Choi clan which has passed down 12 generations till date. The village complex is rather huge and one can opt to rent a bicycle to explore the area. From there take bus either 10 or 11 ( loop bus ) to Balmeosa temple. one of a nosy place to enjoy autumn leave in Korea .
