On April 2nd, I went on a time travel to the daily lives of people 1,500 years ago at the GyeonggiChildrensMuseum's "Life of Hanseong Baekje People" special exhibition!! The life-size Hanseong Baekje residential model at the entrance caught my eye, and the faint scent from the central brazier made me feel like I was in an actual ancient village.. Feels like the Stone Age? The excavated earthenware dishes resembled modern dishes, making me feel the continuity of history!!
📌 Points for solo travelers
Recommended experience: Baekje loom weaving experience → Making small fabrics in the traditional way (25 minutes, 6,000 won)
Hidden spot: 2nd floor "Baekje's scent" → Experience the smell of ingredients and spices from the Hanseong Baekje period
Recommended snack: Museum cafe "Baekje people's table" (7,500 won) → Rice cakes and drinks inspired by ancient recipes
🚨 Notes
Weaving experience closes at 4:25 p.m. (considering thread cleanup time)
Inform staff in advance of any allergies for the scent experience
Rice cakes contain spicy herbal medicines, so they are not suitable for children
In the old dyeing experience, I dyed a handkerchief with acorn shells, but the color was lighter than I expected, which was disappointing. The Baekje-style mini pottery (8,000 won) baked in the experience zone is a bit bumpy, but I'm proud that it's a historical piece that I made myself!! The price is also good! The last Baekje music experience at the exhibition was special as the unique melodies of ancient instruments lingered in my ears!!

On April 2nd, I experienced the birth of prehistoric art at the GyeonggiChildrensMuseum's "Prehistoric Inventions Pottery" special exhibition!! The bronze age dancing pottery at the entrance was impressive, and I was surprised by the simple shape but lively pose. ㅎㅎ The demonstration of pottery being baked in a fire made me feel the soot and heat, and I vividly felt the mystery of primitive technology!!
📌 Points for solo travelers
Recommended experience: Making rhythmic dance pottery → Making doll pottery modeled after body movements (30 minutes, 8,000 won)
Hidden spot: "Fire Room" on the first basement floor → Watch the process of baking pottery in a primitive oven
Recommended snack: Museum cafe "Caveman's Lunch" (6,500 won) → Acorn powder cookies and berry tea
🚨 Notes
The pottery experience ends at 4:10 p.m. (considering the kiln operation time)
The fire room is hot, so it is recommended to stay for less than 5 minutes
Acorn cookies are bitter, so you can request additional sugar
The mud dye used to draw the pottery decoration pattern got on my hands and didn't come off even after washing, so I had a hard time ㅎㅎ.. The completed dancing person pottery (12,000 won) only has one finger, so it's funny, but I'm attached to it!! At the last prehistoric music experience in the exhibition hall, I was surprised that the sound of the bone flute was more beautiful than I thought!!

History flowing along the river and the beginning of unification, the Han River Basin🇰🇷
#AustraliaFlightEvent #museum #koreatrip #GyeonggiChildren'sMuseum #HangangHistory
On April 2nd, I visited the special exhibition "Hangang River Basin, the Beginning of Unification" at the GyeonggiChildren'sMuseum and looked back at the starting point of history.. The 3D Hangang River Basin terrain model at the entrance was impressive, and the ancient settlements around the river were marked with lights, allowing me to see the territorial changes of the Three Kingdoms at a glance.. I felt the prosperity of the Hangang River Basin civilization through the Baekje early pottery collection!!!
📌 Points for solo travelers
Recommended experience: Ancient road restoration puzzle → Experience connecting the transportation routes of the Han River basin (15 minutes, free)
Hidden spot: 2nd floor "Sound of the River" → A quiet space to meditate with the sound of the Han River
Recommended snack: Museum cafe "Three Kingdoms Rice Cake Set" (7,500 won) → A set expressing the Three Kingdoms with three different colored rice cakes
🚨 Notes
The puzzle experience closes at 4:40 p.m. (Time needed to organize puzzle pieces)
Take off your shoes when entering the meditation space, be careful of noise
The rice cake set may be sold out as it is made on the day
I traveled the ancient Han River virtually in the AR Han River boat sailing experience, but the boat shook so much that I got dizzy and left after 3 minutes ㅜㅜ.. I plan to decorate a corner of the room with the miniature Saturn model (6,000 won) I made in the experience zone.. It could become a relic.. In the last interactive timeline of the exhibition hall, I was deeply impressed by exploring the historical moments when the owner changed hands through touch!

An exhibition where you can learn the wisdom of ancient administration and explore the administrative districts of Unified Silla in Gyeonggi Province🇰🇷
#AustraliaFlightEvent #museum #koreatrip #GyeonggiChildren'sMuseum
On April 2nd, the special exhibition "Gyeonggi Land's Unified Silla Administrative Districts" at Gyeonggi Children's Museum was interesting as it allowed us to find the roots of the ancient administrative system. The large map of the 9 provinces and 5 small cities of Unified Silla at the entrance caught our attention as it showed changes by region with LED lights!! We were able to vividly experience the working spaces of the officials at the time in the life-size model of Hansanju (漢山州) government office!!
📌 Points for solo travelers
Recommended experience: Making a Silla official seal → Create your own seal by engraving Chinese characters on a wooden board (20 minutes, 5,000 won)
Hidden spot: "Silla official uniform experience room" on the 2nd floor → Photo zone after wearing a real-size official uniform
Recommended snack: Museum cafe "Silla rice cake tea set" (6,500 won) → Mugwort rice cake and traditional tea set
🚨 Notes
Official seal experience closes at 4:35 p.m. (needs time to prepare the wooden board)
Official uniform experience requires taking off your shoes and wearing socks
The mugwort rice cake in the rice cake tea set may be hot because it was just made
I tried to write in the style of the time next to a replica of Unified Silla administrative document, but the Chinese characters were too difficult, so I gave up. It was too difficult.. I put my own 'yeolgongin (熱工印)' that I made during the official seal experience on my study desk to remind myself to study hard throughout the vacation ㅎㅎ!! The hologram Shilla management experience at the end of the exhibition hall was really great because the question-answering interaction was fun!!

The birth of the art of transforming clay that allows you to appreciate and touch the innovative efforts of Goryeo white porcelain🇰🇷
#AustraliaFlightEvent #museum #koreatrip #GoryeoWhitePorcelain
On April 2nd, the Gyeonggi Children's Museum's special exhibition "Efforts for Innovation: Goryeo White Porcelain" was a time when I, who had no interest in ceramics, realized the status of Korean ceramics in the world. ㅎㅎ The 12th century celadon restoration at the entrance had a soft blue glow that made me stop in my tracks!! The endless patience of Goryeo craftsmen was felt in the model of the white porcelain making process..
📌 Points for solo travelers
Recommended experience: Turning the Goryeo white porcelain pottery wheel → Experience shaping porcelain with real clay (25 minutes, 7,000 won)
Hidden spot: 2nd floor "The Sound of White Porcelain" → Interactive space where you can hear the sound of porcelain by tapping it
Recommended snack: Museum cafe "White Porcelain Lemonade" (6,000 won) → Special drink in a white porcelain cup
🚨 Notes
The pottery wheel experience ends at 4:15 p.m. (considering cleaning time)
Proceed with caution during the sound experience, and compensation must be paid for any damage to the porcelain
A separate deposit of 5,000 won is required for the white porcelain cup (refunded upon return)
The porcelain cup I made during the pottery wheel experience was crooked, which was sad, but the instructor consoled me by saying, "Even Goryeo craftsmen started out like that," and I was grateful. ㅎㅎ In the experience zone, on the white porcelain pattern postcard (3,000 won) drawn, "Even if you fail, I wrote "It's okay" and sent it to my friend, and my friend asked why I failed lol.. It was funny.
