Famous for its location and one of the tourist destination when visiting Korea. Attractions Well known for its fabrics stores, this market also offers diversity of food stalls including seafoods and local cuisines. So much to do here, as a tourist, I would recommended buying fabrics and trying a hanbok a traditional korean dress. Gwangjang street food stalls are in good supply, there a lots of local and traditional foods and the ladies cooking the food are welcoming and friendly. Sweet and spicy is the order of the day here, whether it's meats, vegetables, pancakes or any other of the tasty dishes. The atmosphere is good and comparatively to other markets I have been to in Asia, this is fairly clean too. The market is vast and once you've finished eating or taking pics of the colourful food, there is fresh food stalls, fabric stalls and even a second storey of little shops too.

The raw liver is so thick that one piece is enough to enjoy. Gwanjang Market is an incredible place to visit. It is the oldest and largest traditional market in Korea and a wonderful place to eat Korean street food. Make sure you are hungry and try at many local dishes as possible. This market is just a stone throw away from Dongdaemun Design Plaza and Dongdaemun metro station. The market opens at 8.30am and closes at 6pm and it will take you around 2hours to explore the entire market including snacking and shopping. #wecreate

Gwangjang market used to be a famous local market until a few stores here featured in Netflix! This place has became more popular recently and you will see a lot of tourists here all the time. Do take note that they are closed on Sunday! We tried a few local food here and all are awesome! Of course we can’t missed the most famous state here that featured in Netflix, the noodles and dumplings stores. There are a lot of the similar stores here but this store is easily spotted because they all wear Pink shirt! And of course you can tell by the queue as well 😁 the noodles here are really nice and springy, the soup is tasty as well! What I like the most here is the mungbean pancake, it’s so so so yummy!! It’s so crispy from the outside and soft in the inside, the raw onion dip makes it perfect! We also had teppoki and fish cake here, which I think it’s just average. I’m sure you can find somewhere nicer than this. But overall I would recommend this place, love the atmosphere here and the food options!

The highlight of this trip - Trying out 칼국수 that's featured on Netflix. It was part of my bucket list. Despite the heavy snowfall, I was so determined to try Gohyang Kalguksu. Thought I wouldn't be able to find the stall since an influencer kept whining about how hard it was to find it that she had to walk out of gwangjang market with disappointment. But to my surprise, it was actually easy to locate la! Wahlau bluff us. Anw that's not important. When we arrived the stall, there was already a queue. Mostly were foreigners and we're one of them. lol. Though the queue was long, the waiting time was fast! There's an ahjussi controlling the crowd and assigning seats to customers. So you don't have to worry about not being able to find one. I told my friend that I wanted a selfie with the Netflix star provided if I could get the seat right in front of her. The next thing I know, bam! Ahjussi put me at the "First Class" seat. Hahaha. My luck damn swee one meh??? So nice to be able to watch her stuff. She wasn't even looking when she chopped the noodles. That's how pro she is ok. Anw the soup was tasty, the noodle texture was good, great customer service, I was satisfied! 5,000KRW for a bowl. Definitely worth the queue. Gwangjang Market#Gwangjang Market is a traditional street market is the the largest in Seoul. It is located at 88 Changgyeonggung-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul. It is one of the best places to go for food if you would like to try authentic Korean traditional street food. If you are taking a subway, you can alight at line 1, Jongno 5 ga station, exit 7/8, it’s about 3 mins walk away. There are really a lot of stores that are mostly selling noodles soup, spicy noodle, side dishes, dumpling, mungbean pancake, sweet pancake, twisted donut and many more. In this market, you can find stalls that also featured in Netflix’s street food series which can be easily identified with the posters being put up. We visited the market during the winter, hence, you may need to get yourself warmed up as it can get really cold and chilly in the morning. In addition to the street food, there’s also many stores that are selling different fermented food like kimchi, squid etc. If you go to the second floor, there’s mostly shops that sells traditional Hanbok that you can customized yourself a piece and purchase it back as a souvenir.

But it changed as soon as I stepped into the market as the two lanes of kimchi variations is right in front of me .I did not even know it comes in as many types cabbage, radish, to name a few.The. rest of the market have also many variety of food that I decide to try . if you are ever in seoul, you should definitely visit Gwangjang market. this places offers a variety of korean dishes at an affordable price. you should definitely try the various stalls over there! i visited the famous netflix kalguksu. there was a short queue. i waited for around 20minutes. the food there was really nice!! i ordered a bowl of kalguksu and mandu on the side. feel free to help yourself to as much kimchi/ brown rice drink! the netflix lady chef was really friendly and welcoming. while you are over there, you may watch how she prepares her food on a step by step basis. everything was made from scratch! definitely a place i will return to in the future

Gwangjang Market Mother and Daughter Kalguksu: Kaljebi and Barley Rice Restaurant During Jongno vacation, I went to Gwangjang Market's famous hometown kalguksu, but the line was long, so I went to Mother and Daughter Kalguksu right next door! It was the second best option, but it was really delicious...ㄷㄷ The amount of barley rice was large and the ingredients were plentiful, which was great! The soybean paste soup that came with it was refreshing and the best!!! I ordered kalguksu, and it was chewy and thick because it was hand-kneaded, so it was delicious The aunt was also kind and nice! Gwangjang market is a foodie's paradise. You'll find all sorts of street style food at cheap prices. The market is arranged in stalls in the middle and more traditional restaurants on the side. Simply choose any stall, sit down and point to what you want. Remember to bring cash as card is not widely accepted here. Some not to miss foods include: mung bean pancake, tteobokki, kimbaps and a sort of fried dough. Gwangjang Market is the largest traditional market in Seoul and the first traditional trading market in Korea, located in Jongno 5-ga, Seoul. It operates from 9 AM to 6 PM every day without stopping. The entrance is right in front of Exit 8 of Jongno 5-ga Station on Subway Line 1, making it easily accessible. In addition, the arcade and other facilities have been modernized, making it easy to move around, allowing you to enjoy a relatively comfortable market outing. There is a lumber store at the entrance, and if you pass by this place, you will reach the most famous 'food alley' in Gwangjang Market. Bindaetteok, Janchi noodles, meat pancakes, raw meat, and Daegu soup are famous. I really want go back to Seoul & grab the traditional handmade redbeans hotteok팥호떡 here Gwangjang Market but it's located on the main street(Outdoor) not inside the market. it's so decilious and have a nice talk with this lady The Gyeongbokgung Palace is so beautiful especially with the cherry blossom was go there last year on April.
