Jinhua - Guzi City
Guzi City is an ancient city in Jinhua, located in the Jiangbei area of Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, west of Dongshi North Street and north of Piaoping Road. It was built before the third year of the Tianfu period of Emperor Zhaozong of the Tang Dynasty (903 AD), and has a history of more than 1,700 years. It is the root of the city of Jinhua, and was once the political, cultural, and military center of Jinhua throughout the ages, with a very rich historical and cultural heritage. There are also many historical buildings in Guzi City, such as Tianning Temple, Xujiaguli, Zhuangyuanfang, Zhangzhai, and a large number of ancient residential buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, as well as General's Tower, Jinhua Gate, Xichun Gate, Wanfo Pagoda, and Confucius Temple. During the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty, the Wuzhou Prefecture was moved to its current location. The city walls of the prefecture were built by Qian Liu, King of Wuyue, in April of the third year of the Tianfu period of Emperor Zhaozong of the Tang Dynasty (903 AD), and the city of Wuzhou was built in April of the first year of the Kaiping period of the Later Liang Dynasty (907 AD), with a sub-city built. Starting in the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937), Jinhua was repeatedly bombed by Japanese planes during the invasion of China. On December 10, 1938, for air defense and to facilitate the evacuation of residents, the city walls were gradually demolished, and now only a few sites remain, such as Hongji Bridge, Mingyue Tower, Bailian Lane North, and Gaopo Lane. Larger ancient buildings also only remain in a few places, such as the Prince's Mansion, Bayong Tower, Tianning Temple, the City God Temple, and Mingyue Tower. Guzi City has experienced thousands of years of vicissitudes, and has been severely damaged by war and the impact of urbanization, with its overall layout suffering some damage, but many historical and cultural relics have been well preserved. The historical district of Guzi City extends west to Shengli Street, east to Dongshi Street, south to Piaoping Road, and north to Shiliu Lane. Its structure can be described as "one city, two lanes, one belt, and two rings." One city refers to Guzi City, two lanes refer to Jiufang Lane and Bayong Road, one belt refers to the museum development belt, and two rings refer to the historical and cultural promenade of the city wall ruins, as well as the traditional street and lane ring of Jiufang Lane - Shiliu Lane - Jingxiao Street - Gulouli - Bayong Road.

Jinhua Confucian Temple
Jinhua Confucian Temple is located in the ancient city of Wuzhou, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, and is an important cultural site in Jinhua. The temple is located north of Bayong Tower, west of the Jiufang Lane ancient building complex, and east of the Old No. 6 Middle School parking lot. It is an important site for the continuation of Jinhua's thousand-year-old cultural heritage. The history of Jinhua Confucian Temple can be traced back to the early Song Dynasty, and it has undergone many changes and destructions. Due to the changes of the times, the temple disappeared from people's sight after the 1970s. In 2018, the original site of the temple was confirmed through archaeological excavations. On September 28, 2024, the reconstruction of Jinhua Confucian Temple was completed and opened to the public. The reconstructed temple complex includes the Pan Pond, Dacheng Gate, East and West Corridors, Dacheng Hall Square, Dacheng Hall, and Minglun Hall. The temple is not only a memory of history, but also a cultural heritage, and has become an important carrier for the inheritance of excellent traditional Chinese culture. The reconstruction of Jinhua Confucian Temple reflects Jinhua's respect for and inheritance of traditional culture, and demonstrates Jinhua's cultural confidence and openness.

Jinhua - Guzicheng Night View
The night view of Jinhua Guzicheng attracts many tourists with its unique charm. At night, the ancient city is brightly lit, with high-rise buildings and ancient architecture complementing each other, as if crossing the boundaries of time and space. Strolling along the banks of the Wujiang River, the breeze blowing on your face, the night of Guzicheng not only has the prosperity of modernization, but also retains a strong traditional cultural atmosphere. On both sides of the ancient street under the night, there are characteristic buildings, and the street vendors sell various special snacks, which are fragrant. The Wanfo Pagoda in Guzicheng is even more beautiful under the light. Especially the pure wooden Wanfo Pagoda, which is so beautiful after the lights are on, it is a great place to take photos. Walking on the ancient streets, it is like traveling through time and space, feeling the precipitation of history and the profound cultural heritage. The night view not only shows the prosperity of modernization, but also retains a strong traditional cultural atmosphere, which is a place worth visiting.

If I don't post the summer travel guide now, I will forget it.
Departing from Taizhou and arriving at Jinhua Station
🏠For accommodation, I recommend staying near Jinhua Station because we are just playing in the urban area of Jinhua. It is quite convenient to stay near the train station.
After resting in the hotel for a while, it was already afternoon when we went out.
⚠️The attractions in Wucheng District, Jinhua are very close, most of them can be reached on foot, and the transportation is very convenient.
Day1
First stop📍Guzi City
When we went there, the sun was still very strong, and there were very few tourists. In the evening, there will be some small stalls and a barbecue street with many snacks! Highly recommend a restaurant🍽️HOHO, the set meal for two people is too much to finish, the environment is very good, similar to a local food court.
🌮Be sure to buy Lao Li Bing, a local specialty snack.
Second stop📍Bayong Park
It is also within walking distance, really great for photos. In the middle is a statue of Shen Yue, the park is super large, and there is a sky bridge. Taking photos at sunset is really beautiful! The evening breeze in summer is very refreshing! You can also see the National Wu Opera Theater opposite.
Third stop📍Wanfo Tower
After dinner at HOHO, you can take night photos of Wanfo Tower! We didn't buy tickets to go up because we were too tired to climb, haha.
Night tour🎫seems to be 80r, remember it is closed on Mondays.
PS: Wanfo Tower is by the river, you can enjoy the evening breeze and the night view by the river.
Day2
First stop📍Jinhua Museum
It is next to Guzi City and Wanfo Tower. In the afternoon, when the sun is too strong, you can take shelter indoors. No need to book in advance, you can book at the entrance. It mainly talks about the history and food culture of Jinhua. There is a part decorated like an ancient street, offering an immersive experience!
Lunch can be settled with some snacks in Guzi City.
Second stop📍World Trade City Plaza
I specially bought Jasmine Milk White🥤, which we don't have in our area. There happened to be a promotion, 16r for three cups, haha. But personally, I think the taste is average, and the white orchid is a bit disappointing🥲

Jinhua Ancient City | A Journey Through Time
| A Journey Through Time. 🎇 Jinhua Ancient City is like a history book sealed by the dust of time, with every page filled with stories.
🏮 Strolling through the ancient streets, the bluestone roads bear the footprints of a thousand years. The ancient buildings along the street are arranged in an orderly manner, as if telling the prosperity of the past.
🍜 The food here is even more intoxicating. The aroma of local snacks fills the air, and with each bite, you can taste the happiness.
🎨 Walking into each small shop, the exquisite handicrafts are irresistible, with each piece containing the artisan's dedication.
💖 The ancient city is not just a place, but a sentiment that makes people linger and forget to leave.

Jinhua's ancient Zicheng, a journey through a thousand years of time
The winds of history blow across the ancient city walls of a millennium
Wandering through the ancient Zicheng of Jinhua is like traveling into the thick historical scrolls. The quaint streets, each bluestone slab tells the stories of the past, each step echoes the passage of time. This place is not only an ancient city but also a witness to history, quietly narrating the secrets of the years.
The ancient architectural complex, each brick and tile is a piece of art
Walking among these ancient buildings is like hearing the hammering sounds of ancient craftsmen. The exquisite carvings and painted rafters, the flying eaves and upturned corners, every detail reveals the wisdom and ingenuity of the ancients. This is not just appreciation, but a dialogue with the soul, a communication with those ancient spirits.
The sound of blossoming flowers is especially clear here
The spring in the ancient Zicheng is a world of flowers. The plum blossoms in the corner of the wall, the peach blossoms at the end of the alley, all compete to bloom in this season. The sound of petals gently falling seems to be amplified here, each drop is a natural symphony, intoxicating to the soul.
A street of snacks, a carnival for the taste buds
Don't forget to try the authentic delicacies of Jinhua! The crispy Jinhua ham, the fresh tofu pudding, and the fragrant baked sesame buns... Each flavor is memorable, each bite is a deep love for this city.
As night falls, the ancient city reveals its mysterious charm
As the night slowly falls, the lights of the ancient city gradually light up, and the entire ancient Zicheng seems to be draped in a gorgeous coat. Strolling in the dim light, feeling the tranquility and harmony, allows the soul to be truly released.
Jinhua's ancient Zicheng is not just a city, it is a piece of history, a culture, a touch to the soul. Come here, let us travel through time and space, to experience that ancient and pure beauty

Passing by Jinhua - everything I encounter brings joy
Jinhua, my first impression of it, aside from the suffix 'ham', was really one of indifference! However, after arriving, everything I encountered was a delight.
The cityscape: Cities in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai region all have a modern, bustling vibe. The city is clean, with a high vegetation coverage. Located in the Jinhua-Quzhou Basin and surrounded by mountains, it has a unique geographical climate, which has given birth to a series of geographical indication products, represented by Jinhua ham!
Transportation: Jinhua has a high-speed train station. Yiwu and Quzhou to the east and west have airports, and it's located in the center of Zhejiang!
With limited time, I just wandered around the city. There are several large parks, all with ancient towering trees and shaded by greenery.
The Lake Haidang Park is very close to the municipal government, surrounded by affluent areas with a great environment. A 5-kilometer loop around the park is perfect for running!
Wuzhou Park is opposite the ancient Zicheng, connected to the Wanfo Pagoda Park.
The old town area is in Wuzhou District, with Jinhua's city landmark, the Wanfo Pagoda, standing by the river. Climbing it offers a panoramic view of Jinhua. Right next to it is the ancient Zicheng.
The atmosphere in the ancient Zicheng is particularly peaceful in the morning. I made a special trip to walk around; there are many former residences of famous people, and many buildings are over a hundred years old. Jinhua Museum, the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's King's Mansion Memorial, the old city wall ruins, and Tianning Temple are all located on the edge of the old city. Xichun Alley, Jiufang Alley, and Bayong Old Street crisscross each other, forming the framework of the old city. It's quiet in the morning with few people, and the shops are not all open yet. A quiet walk takes less than 2 hours.
The ancient Zicheng at night is another sight to behold, with beautiful and intoxicating night scenes. The shops are open, and although it's not too crowded, there are performances and a lively atmosphere, with lots of delicious food. Jinhua's various pastries are very famous.
Below Jinhua is an area called Youbu, where the Jiangnan morning tea is very famous. Many tourists from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai come especially for the morning market to drink morning tea and have breakfast. Unfortunately, I didn't have time, so I'll leave it for next time!
