Guo's Villa, the old house of a silk merchant, the interior is very beautiful.
#Chinese architecture Guo’s Villa (Guozhuang Garden)
In the past, this was a luxurious garden villa built as a private retreat for a wealthy silk merchant in the Qing Dynasty.
The shui is very good, with mountains behind and West Lake
in front. The entrance fee is 10 yuan per person. For those who go to walk around
the West Lake and there are many people, I recommend you to come here. Pay a little but you can take pictures without people.
This garden is therefore known as the number one beautiful garden in the West Lake because of its quiet environment.
The well-preserved buildings, tasteful landscaping, especially the arched door corner facing the West Lake, has a lotus garden mixed with traditional Chinese architecture. Chinese people like to rent Chinese clothes to take pictures.
📌 Guo’s Villa (Guozhuang Garden) The entrance fee is 10 yuan per person.
⏰ Opening and closing hours: Open daily from 8:00 to 17:00.

The Prince Bay in West Lake during autumn, how can it be ten times more beautiful than spring?
Have you been enchanted by the maple leaves here in Prince Bay in autumn? I just came back from there, and I was really shocked by the beautiful scenery!
About the maple leaf season, the time when the maple leaves are red to the extreme has not yet arrived, only a very few trees on the shady side are completely red. But there is no light under the tree, the color tone is too dark. I personally prefer the current maple leaves of green, yellow and orange, which are colorful under the sun. Plus, the water quality in Prince Bay is very good, it is blue-green, and there is a cool color in the warm color of the maple leaves, which is too great. Maple leaf viewing date prediction: In the recent week, the green is gradually less, and most of the maple leaves turn from yellow to orange. In the next week, the maple leaves are almost yellow, and the orange tone is enhanced. In mid-December, the maple leaves enter the orange-red stage, and they are about to be completely red. Maple leaf viewing time: 7-9 am, there will be morning mist in Prince Bay. 14-16 in the afternoon, the afternoon sun is very gentle. My pictures were taken around 3 pm. It's best to come on non-weekends. My highly recommended West Lake maple leaf viewing route: Quyuan Fenghe-Sudi (there is a colorful maple tree) or Guozhuang (park card is free)-Huagang Guanyu-Prince Bay-Hupao Park. In addition, there are Jiuxi and Meiling South Road, which are a bit far apart and not very convenient. You can go there when you have time.

The Red Maple King in the Jiangnan garden by the West Lake is absolutely beautiful
The Jiangnan garden by the West Lake: Guozhuang, known as the 'Little West Lake', has different beautiful sceneries all year round. Currently, the Red Maple King in the garden is in full color. Hurry up and enjoy the maple leaves, or they will all fall off soon.
1️⃣The best light is around two in the afternoon
2️⃣The maple leaves look better when photographed against the light
3️⃣Combining garden architecture in the photo creates a better atmosphere
4️⃣There is only one red maple tree in Guozhuang, but its lush branches and leaves are not to be missed
🎫The entrance fee for Guozhuang is 10 yuan, and the Hangzhou Park Card can be used for free entry
⏱️Opening hours: 08:00-17:00

Hangzhou's most beautiful maple leaf season, at this time of the year, Hangzhou is like an oil painting
1 Taiziwan
One of the mainstream West Lake scenic spots in Hangzhou, undoubtedly beautiful, but there are indeed many people, especially those taking pictures! It is recommended to arrive at 7 o'clock to appreciate the morning mist
🎫: Free
P: Taiziwan West Gate Parking Lot (there are more parking spaces there)
2 Huagang Guanyu
Because many scenic spots in Hangzhou can feed fish, so I didn't specifically go to the red fish pond. I quickly ate this glowing pancake when the traffic light was red. I personally love the Binhu Corridor, looking at the small South Lake and the distant mountains, each frame is like a scene in a painting
🎫: Free
P: Huagang Park Parking Lot (at the entrance of Zhiweiguan Weizhuang)
3 Yu Hu Bay
Compared with other scenic spots in West Lake, there are not many people here, but it is this low-key hidden in the city, if you have more time, you can go to Turtle Pond, or take a hand-rowed boat on the Turtle Pond route, which is incredibly beautiful
🎫: Free
P: Chishanbu Parking Lot
4 Maojiabu
There are few people here like the West Lake scenic spot, basically all are locals in Hangzhou, there are no particularly eye-catching check-in points, and no golden positions, but there is more aimless comfort
🎫: Free
P: Xia Maojiabu Parking Lot
5 Guozhuang
You can walk all the way from Maojiabu to Guozhuang, a small and beautiful private garden of the Qing Dynasty, to appreciate the popular Red Maple King
🎫: 10 yuan (free for park annual card)
6 Quyuan Fenghe
Go for a battery boat (you have to drive it yourself) The battery boat ticket price is very conscientious, 30 yuan for half an hour, can sit 4 people, it is a different feeling to appreciate the beautiful scenery on the lake
🎫: Free
P: You can walk directly from Guozhuang (Gate 4), if you enter from the north, you can park in the Yue Temple Parking Lot

The Guo Zhuang in Xiaoxi Lake, Hangzhou, hides the 'most beautiful rose garden'
Guo Zhuang in Xiaoxi Lake is already one of the best gardens in Hangzhou. The combination of garden landscapes and rose exhibitions has truly reached a new level of beauty. It is mainly divided into indoor and outdoor areas.
The indoor area features various flower arrangement exhibitions (even the third prize ones are very beautiful).
The outdoor area is further divided into a water area and a scenic area.
The scenic area combines flowers with various picturesque scenes.
The water area is the most beautiful, with roses reflecting on the water surface.
It is like a dream, so beautiful that it feels unreal.
Transportation: Take the bus to Guo Zhuang Station or drive (restricted on weekends).

Guo Zhuang, the foremost garden of West Lake
Guo Zhuang is a small and exquisite garden by the side of West Lake, known as the foremost garden of West Lake and a provincial cultural relic protection unit. The garden features winding paths leading to secluded spots, rockeries, and ancient buildings, giving a sense of tranquility and profundity.

The crown of classical gardens in West Lake, with changing scenery at every step, full of charm!
Guo Zhuang, with its unique scenery at every step, is hidden in the less crowded and beautiful gardens of West Lake 🌿|||Guo Zhuang, one of the gardens in Hangzhou, is adjacent to one of the ten scenes of West Lake, 'Quyuan Fenghe'. The biggest feeling in Guo Zhuang is: a quiet corner in the bustling West Lake area. If you go early, there are even fewer people, allowing you to slowly feel the passage of time and quietly appreciate the garden scenery.
Guo Zhuang was originally named 'Duanyou Villa' and was built in the 33rd year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1907). The original owner was Song Duanfu, a businessman from Hangzhou, so the manor was commonly known as Song Zhuang. During the Republic of China period, it was sold to the Guo family from Fenyang, and thus renamed 'Fenyang Villa', commonly known as Guo Zhuang.
Guo Zhuang is known as the 'crown of classical gardens in West Lake' and is the most complete private garden existing in Hangzhou. The garden is built by the lake with pavilions and terraces, has a dock, and is centered around a pond. The winding water connects with West Lake, and there are rockeries and artificial mountains on the side, which are exquisite and transparent.
Inside the garden, the 'Jing Su Pavilion' faces the Su Causeway, offering views of the outer lake. Guo Zhuang is elegant and clean, and is praised by the garden academia as 'the most ancient and interesting among the West Lake pond pavilions'.
The manor can be generally divided into three parts: the inner pond, the outer pond, and the residential area on the east side and south end of the inner pond, with two entrances on the west and north. The east side faces West Lake, with pavilions built by the lake, winding paths leading to secluded places, and rockeries and stacked stones, full of elegance.

I really like Hangzhou!!
I really like Hangzhou!!~ I took a break for the Dragon Boat Festival and came to Hangzhou to relax. I've been to Hangzhou many times,
but this secret path of West Lake is truly a place I love from the bottom of my heart
Strolling in the greenery as if in a fairy tale, feeling the mystery and beauty of nature. Every green leaf, every flower seems to tell a story about life and hope.
Liulang Wenying → Leifeng Pagoda → Flower Harbor → Prince Bay Park → Bathing Tiger Bay → Turtle Pool → Guo's Villa → Maojiabu → Quyuan Fenghe
I love the vibe of life here, I love walking on these shaded paths, I love riding my bike with earphones in, leisurely circling around West Lake on my own.
I've walked this route several times already, and each time I come, I feel the need to record the beautiful scenery along the way~ Every step feels like walking in a painting~ Hangzhou·Zhejiang

When the overbearing CEO wakes up in bed
The floating homestay by the lake allows the CEO to wake up to the sound of birds with the same name.
🚗 Traffic advice:
I took the subway to the nearest station (Huanglong Sports Center), then rode a bike or took a taxi here, with the navigation set directly to Yu Hu Bay. Both the journey there and back can be taken on bus 194/197 to experience the roller coaster thrill of Yanggong Dike (be sure to sit tight and hold on).
🧗 Hiking route suggestions
Route 🅰️: Yu Hu Bay ➡️ Turtle Pool ➡️ Maojiabu ➡️ Guozhuang ➡️ Quyuan Fenghe ➡️ Solitary Hill/Bao Shi Mountain
❤️ Experience: The first half from Yu Hu Bay to Guozhuang is really quiet, the whole journey is about 5km+, depending on your stamina you can climb Solitary Hill or Bao Shi Mountain (suitable for families/couples, about 1-2 hours) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Route 🅱️: Maojiabu ➡️ Turtle Pool ➡️ Yu Hu Bay ➡️ Flower Harbor ➡️ Prince Bay Park ➡️ Jiu Yao Mountain ➡️ Changqiao Park
❤️ Experience: The stretch from Maojiabu to Prince Bay is relatively easy, the whole route is not crowded, and Jiu Yao Mountain is basically empty. It's easy and not tiring to descend towards Jingci Temple, about 6km+ (suitable for hiking, 3-4 hours)
⌚️ Time suggestions:
Please come during the brightest time on rainy days, such as from 9 am to before 4 pm, as it gets too dark later.
On sunny days, choose before 9 am or after 3 pm. If you can come earlier in the morning, like at 6 or 7 am, you may see the Tyndall effect of the morning light and the fairy mist on the water.

Guo's Villa in Hangzhou
In recent years, tourists coming to Hangzhou have taken a liking to visit the 'back garden' of West Lake, and Guo's Villa is one of them. Located on the banks of the Wulong Bridge on Xishan Road in Hangzhou, it is adjacent to the 'Quyuan Fenghe' park, one of the ten scenic spots of West Lake. Originally named 'Duan You Villa', it was built in the thirty-third year of the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (1907). The initial owner was a Hangzhou merchant named Song Duanfu, hence the estate was commonly known as Song's Villa. During the Republic of China period, it was sold to a person of Fen Yang origin, Mr. Guo, and was thus renamed 'Fen Yang Villa', commonly known as Guo's Villa. After renovation in 1989, it became one of the gardens in Zhejiang, Hangzhou, and is now a Zhejiang provincial cultural heritage site.
The most distinctive feature of Guo's Villa is its borrowed scenery gardening, especially the Su Pond. As the saying goes, 'A garden without water is lifeless; water brings life to the garden.' By drawing water from West Lake, this pond becomes the soul of Guo's Villa. The long corridor in Guo's Villa is also quite unique, with one side against the wall and the other side facing the water, suitable for bending and extending, following the shape and the terrain, with winding lines that add to its dynamic charm. Although Guo's Villa is small in scale, it has everything a garden needs: flowers, plants, trees, lakes, ponds, rockeries, and stone bridges. Guo's Villa, like a dazzling pearl, is buried among the many gardens around West Lake and is known as the 'crown of classical gardens of West Lake' and 'the richest in antiquity among the West Lake pool houses'.
Guo's Villa is one of the representatives of private gardens in the Jiangnan area. If you come to Hangzhou, it is recommended to visit here as well, to appreciate the elegant beauty of Chinese gardens. Another reminder, there is a century-old maple tree in the garden, and every late autumn is the best time to view and take photos of the red maple leaves. The ticket price is 10 yuan, half price for those over 65, and free for those over 70.

In Hangzhou!! A tree of maple leaves, a waterside pavilion
🌟Highlights:
Lesser-known spot by the West Lake, but still quite popular. Even on weekdays, it's crowded with various photo shoots. The garden is not big, located opposite the Hangzhou Flower Nursery, and hosts a rose exhibition during the May Day holiday. Suitable for a half-day trip.
🚉Transportation tips:
Traffic on the west side of West Lake is really congested, with only buses available, which are extremely crowded. Try to avoid peak times if possible. Alternatively, you can ride a bike from Huanglong Cave subway station, there's a slope, and it takes about fifteen minutes to ride.
🗓Itinerary:
Entrance fee is ten yuan.
Recommended spots to check in:
✅Liuli Light and Shadow, inside a pavilion, which used to be a teahouse, with maple leaves reflected on the glass table, giving a sense of Japan's Liuli world. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
✅Rose exhibition, mainly in the corridor area, the roses climbing the walls are also very beautiful.
✅West Lake scenery, at the back of the garden, facing West Lake directly, best for zoning out.
✅Inviting Moon Pavilion, great for taking photos of the maple leaf corridor and West Lake.

Hangzhou Guozhuang | The Rose Exhibition is the best in Hangzhou!
Once the Guozhuang Rose Exhibition debuts, it absolutely outshines the entire city of Hangzhou!
Because flowers and Jiangnan gardens are a perfect match! Guozhuang and roses complement each other.
The Guozhuang Rose Exhibition is mainly divided into two parts. The first is the display of various rose flower arrangements, many of which are works by national first-prize winners in floristry; the second is the display of various types of roses, fragrant and beautiful, each with its own charm, too numerous to count!
Friends who love beauty and flowers, remember to come early, because the flower arrangements will wither!
👉Time: 4.27-5.12
👉Park pass is applicable
👉Other points are more divided, personally, I think they will not compare to this place, because the garden features of Guozhuang are unmatched.
🌟Highlights:
A wide variety of species, excellent environment
📝Tips:
It tends to be crowded on holidays, it is recommended to go early in the morning or in the evening

May Day is approaching, and it is the peak period for travel. If you like being relatively few people and enjoying nature, this "reverse travel" will definitely suit you!
route:
Xiling Bridge - Quyuan Fenghe - Yuewang Temple (don't enter if there are many people, check in at the door) - Yunsong Bookstore - Guozhuang - Maojiabu - Wuguitan - Santai Yunshui - Yuhu Bay
This route focuses on avoiding the crowds and exploring the back garden of West Lake.
Here you will find thousands of miles of green grass, a view every step of the way, and full of wild charm.
Occasionally, I meet people taking photos of traditional Chinese costumes and wedding photos, which is quite interesting!
The entire hike takes about three to four hours with stops and starts. The road is flat, with no ups and downs, lush forests and bamboos, and flowing water and waterfalls. It is very suitable for taking children and the elderly out to relax!
Some random thoughts:
1. Pay attention to mosquitoes, pay attention to mosquitoes, pay attention to mosquitoes, say important things three times! ! !
2. It is recommended to take a taxi or bus.
3. You won’t eat much along the way, so you need to bring your own snacks and dry food.
4. Guozhuang will have a rose flower show from April 27th, and the crowds will be relatively concentrated.
5. If you want to get off at Longxiangqiao subway station, you can take we1314. It’s less crowded, which means it’s better, but it doesn’t seem to be open on weekends?
6. There is a Du Jinsheng Memorial Hall near Maojiabu. If you are interested, you can go and see it.

Time flies, and it's already been seven years.
Every spring, we must go on an incredibly beautiful and excellent spring outing route.

After trying it, they all give it consistently high praise.

🚏➡️Guo's Villa➡️Maojiabu➡️Turtle Pool➡️Santai Mountain Clouds➡️Flower Harbor➡️Bathing Tiger Spring➡️Prince Bay Park
➡️Guo's Villa: A super beautiful southern garden, where you can experience the ancient charm of the Song Dynasty. The magnolias are blooming beautifully at this time.

➡️Turtle Pool: Rowing through it feels like entering a fairyland. The clear pool water ripples, truly unique to West Lake. Near Yanggong Dike, there are many beautiful February orchids.
➡️Flower Harbor: A great place in Hangzhou to enjoy cherry blossoms, with magnolias blooming profusely, especially suitable for Hanfu.
➡️Bathing Tiger Spring: The Jihong Bridge passes through the lake water, very unique, and it's less crowded here.
➡️Prince Bay Park: This is a world of tulips, as beautiful as a Monet painting.
.
⏰The whole duration of this route is about 5 hours.
⚠️Before setting out, remember to prepare some snacks that children like to stave off hunger. They can eat them in the car when hungry or to replenish energy when tired.
⚠️Those with less physical strength can take their time. Even spending the whole day can be very rewarding.
⚠️During the tulip season at Prince Bay Park, it gets crowded, so remember to book in advance through the West Lake app.
📢Some necessary reminders:
1️⃣Where to take a taxi? I usually take the subway to Longxiang Bridge, then take a taxi to Quyuanfenghe or Guo's Villa. Of course, you can go in the opposite direction or to any of the stops in between.
2️⃣Is there a sightseeing bus?
There is no sightseeing bus for this route, you can only rely on walking. Therefore, the article specifically notes that those with less physical strength can consider reducing the itinerary. Walking tours can be physically demanding, so be sure to bring some food to replenish energy. I usually carry eggs, quail eggs, and roasted chicken wings. I keep some in the car and eat whenever I want. They are also convenient to carry during the tour.
3️⃣Is it already so beautiful recently?
Yes, from late March to mid-April, you can generally see such beautiful scenery, but the feeling on sunny days and on cloudy or rainy days is different. Hangzhou has been rainy recently, so please decide whether to go according to your own preferences.
4️⃣Can I ride a bike around?
Yes, but you can't take bicycles into individual scenic spots, you have to leave them at the entrance. You can push a stroller, but the distance is long, so it's not recommended.

Yes, from late March to mid-April, you can basically see such beautiful scenery, but the feeling on sunny days and on cloudy or rainy days is different. Hangzhou has been rainy recently, so please decide whether to go or not according to your own preferences.
4️⃣Can I ride a bike to visit?
Yes, but you cannot enter individual scenic spots with a bicycle, you have to leave it at the entrance of the spot. You can push a stroller, but the distance is long, so it is not recommended.

o's Villa in Hangzhou
Visiting the Broken Bridge at West Lake is not as good as going to the nearby Guo's Villa. Guo's Villa is one of the gardens in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, located by the Wolong Bridge on Xishan Road, adjacent to the 'Quyuan Fenghe' Park, which is one of the ten scenic spots of West Lake. Originally named 'Duan You Villa', it was built in the thirty-third year of the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (1907). The first owner was the Hangzhou merchant Song Duanfu, hence the estate was commonly known as Song's Villa. During the Republic of China period, it was sold to a person from Fenyang, surnamed Guo, and thus renamed 'Fenyang Villa', commonly known as Guo's Villa. After renovation in 1989, the original Fenyang Villa's carved text was still maintained at the main entrance.
The Broken Bridge area of West Lake is crowded with people, but if you walk further to Yanggong Causeway, the crowd thins out. After a few minutes' walk, you arrive at Guo's Villa, with Hangzhou Flower Nursery across from it. Facing West Lake, the residence is very elegant and serene. The estate can be divided into three parts: the inner pond, the outer pond, and the residential area to the east and south of the inner pond, with entrances to the west and north. Facing the lake to the east, there are pavilions by the lake, winding paths leading to secluded spots, rockeries and piled stones, all full of elegant charm. In the center, there is a moon gate, and outside the gate is West Lake. The moon gate frames the seasonal scenery of West Lake, and visitors frame themselves in it as well. Through each uniquely styled window, there is a different view. The two rockeries by the lake, through the hollowed-out holes in the rockeries, present different lake views. Occasionally, when a boat passes by, quickly capture the moment with a camera, and it becomes a beautiful painting. There is a pond in the garden, which draws water from West Lake, adding to the charm of the estate. Next to it is a rockery, on top of which is the 'Pleasing to the Eye' Pavilion. From its high position, the surrounding lake and mountains are all within sight, offering a refreshing and pleasant experience. On a Mid-Autumn moonlit night, if one could recite poetry, drink, and admire the moon in the pavilion, that would truly be a heavenly pleasure.
Transportation: Take Metro Line 3 to Huanglong Cave, and right out of the subway, there is bus 318 to Guo's Villa. Get off the bus and you are at the entrance of Guo's Villa. You can also visit Hangzhou Flower Nursery and Quyuan Fenghe along the way.

➡️ **Flower Harbor**: An excellent spot in Hangzhou for cherry blossom viewing, also incredibly beautiful for ancient-style photography

Guozhuang, a miniature garden, is located on the east side of Yanggong Dike in West Lake, Hangzhou
This small and exquisite ancient garden belongs to the West Lake scenic area, but few people know about it. Compared with other scenic spots in West Lake, the whole garden is quiet and leisurely, with its own unique charm. It is the classical famous garden 'Guozhuang' in Hangzhou.
Guozhuang, also known as Fenyang Villa, was originally Songzhuang, built during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty (1851), and was owned by Hangzhou silk merchant Song Duanfu. During the Republic of China, the garden changed hands and was owned by Guo Shilin from Fenyang, Shanxi. Time flies and things are unpredictable. Over the past century, Guozhuang has undergone changes and was almost deserted. In October 1991, it was taken over by the state. After comprehensive renovation by Hangzhou authorities, it was opened to the public as a public garden, becoming the most classical Jiangnan-style miniature garden in West Lake.
Guozhuang is located near West Lake, backed by Xishan, with mountains and water, it is a blessed place. Its east borrows 'Sudi Chunxiao', the west embraces 'Shuangfeng Chayun', the south looks at 'Nanping Youzi', and the north looks at 'Baojiao Qianying'. No wonder the former garden owner Song Duanfu recognized the 'treasure' and took it under his control. Guozhuang is not large, but it is exquisite and unique, thanks to the ingenious design of the garden owner. The garden is a typical Jiangnan front house and backyard architectural pattern, divided into 'Jingxinju' and 'Yijingtiankai' two parts. The garden is full of small bridges and flowing water, winding corridors, stacked rocks, and fragrant flowers and trees. 'Xiangxue FenChun', 'Shangxin YueMu', 'RuMu ChunFeng', 'ChengFeng YaoYue' and other garden scenes are scattered in the garden, complementing each other. Some people say that Guozhuang can be compared with the Master of the Nets Garden in Suzhou, and with the backdrop of West Lake, it may be slightly better than the Master of the Nets Garden.
Every May, a rose flower exhibition is held in the garden, which has been held for ten sessions so far. The colorful roses bloom in this sunny season, attracting many tourists to watch. The whole Guozhuang has become a sea of flowers.
The ancient and fragrant garden house is complemented by fresh flowers. Walking in Guozhuang, whether in front of the pavilion or by the pool, the eyes are full of colorful roses. In this colorful world of flowers, the body and mind are joyful, and the mood is sublimated. Although the rose is not as rich and noble as the peony, nor as fragrant as the rose, it is also 'tall and straight', colorful. Pink, red, yellow, purple, it is very beautiful. Some people even compare it to the 'queen of flowers.'
Roses, of the Rosaceae family and the Rosa genus, are also known as monthly red. It means that flowers will bloom every month and every season, and this is indeed the case. The generosity of God, the gift of nature, May is the peak season of roses, thanks to the abundant rain and dew at the turn of spring and summer. Roses are also cold-resistant and drought-resistant, and have strong adaptability. The stubborn habit has made roses a common flower species that can be seen all year round. Zhang Xin, a poet of the Ming Dynasty, depicted the rose vividly in his poem 'Rose': 'A new flower message, half belongs to the east wind and half belongs to the dust, only this flower does not tire of blooming, always occupying the four seasons of the year.'
Guozhuang was listed as a provincial cultural relics protection unit in Zhejiang Province in the late 1980s, which shows its important position in the hearts of the public in Hangzhou. It is also a model of ancient gardens in Hangzhou. I believe that more tourists will come to visit and sightsee Guozhuang in the future.
