Guanyin Lü Temple
Guanyin Lü Temple, also known as Guanyin Temple, is located at No. 18, Caoshi Street, Yu'an District, Lu'an City, Anhui Province. It was built by the monk Yuantong during the Wude period of the Tang Dynasty (618-627) and was originally named Fota Temple. At that time, there were only the Shanmen Hall, the Zhaoti Hall and the Fota Temple Tower. The Song monk Ruiyun renamed it Guanyin Temple. The monk Changman repaired it in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty and added the Maitreya Hall. During the Qianlong period, the Maitreya Hall was built by imperial order. In the eighth year of Jiaqing, the monk Yun Kuan and Hong Yan raised funds to rebuild the governor of Jinling and Guangzhou.
On May 4, 1985, Guanyin Lü Temple was announced by the People's Government of Anhui Province as a key cultural relic protection unit in Anhui Province and a key temple in Anhui Province.
