🌿Introduction
Guanyin Temple is located in the south of Xinjin County, Chengdu City, about 7.5 kilometers away from Yongshang Town's Baoqiao Village. It faces the Qiongshui River, with mountains behind it, and is surrounded by green pines and cypresses and clear water. The mountains resemble nine peaks guarding and arching around like a lotus flower, hence the name "Lotus Receiving Emerald". According to traditional geomancy, the geographical pattern here is excellent, with the shape of the mountains resembling nine peaks surrounding and guarding like nine wonderful lotuses blooming together, making it a auspicious holy place for cultivating immortality.
🌿Guanyin Temple was originally called Pinggai Zhi (one of the 24 districts of Zhang Daoling's teachings). In the late Eastern Han Dynasty, Zhang Daoling, the founder of Taoism, established 24 districts (teaching districts) for the convenience of teaching. The middle-grade eighth district, Pinggai Zhi, is located here.
🌿Mural
Came to see the exquisite original murals, which are located in the Pilu Hall of the temple. Although the hall is not large, the murals on the walls are really exquisite. They are very different from those modern "restored" murals. A small amount of sunlight shines through the window and in this dim environment, you can still vaguely see the Buddha statues on the walls shining brightly, as if you can feel the craftsmanship of the ancients from the strokes of the murals. If it weren't for the fact that photography is not allowed for the murals, I really want to capture the details of these murals.
🍜Catering
Because it is close to the famous Xinjin Anxi Fishing Village, there are many restaurants nearby that serve fish. We randomly chose this Old Yang Hot Pot Fish Restaurant, where the hot pot base and dipping sauce are both made with the restaurant's specially blended doubanjiang sauce, paired with fresh fish head, it is very delicious and fragrant!
