#Guangzhou Mountain Villa Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Deep within Guangzhou's Baiyun Mountain lies a treasure trove of a secret resort hotel, once a state guesthouse
It must have been over a decade since I last climbed Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain. What was it like to spend a night on Baiyun Mountain the night before last?
The Baiyun Mountain Villa is located in the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area, which is known as the 'Lung of Guangzhou City', surrounded by the natural scenery of blue sky, white clouds, clear water, and green forests. It has a long history and a profound cultural heritage, designed by the renowned Chinese Academy of Engineering academician and master architect Mo Bozhi. The building is constructed according to the mountain terrain and is famous for its unique garden design. When guests enter the hotel rooms, they slowly ascend from the first to the fifth floor without feeling tired, which is a clever design by the architect! The room layout is reasonable, comfortable, warm, and elegant, making guests feel at home!
The next day, I successfully climbed to the highest peak of Baiyun Mountain, Moxing Ridge, at an altitude of 328 meters, overlooking the bustling areas of Guangzhou, with a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery!

The Treasure Resort Hotel hidden deep in the Baiyun Mountain was once the state guesthouse of the past
I never expected that in the heart of Guangzhou, deep within Baiyun Mountain, there lies a treasure resort hotel, which was once the state guesthouse of yesteryear.
The mountain villa lodge, nestled in the quiet and serene Sujia Mountain area of the Moxing Ridge scenic spot within the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area of Guangzhou City, was built in 1965. It was designed and reconstructed under the supervision of academicians Mo Bozhi and Zheng Zuliang of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and now stands as one of the outstanding buildings of modern Lingnan garden architecture. The original site of the mountain villa was the ancestral shrine of the great literary figure of the Northern Song Dynasty, Su Dongpo, and his descendants. After the hotel was built, it hosted numerous national leaders and dignitaries from China and abroad, rightfully earning its reputation as 'Guangzhou's State Guesthouse' at the time.
🍃Environment: The hotel exudes the charm of Lingnan gardens, with a design that blends classic 60s architecture with modern new Chinese style. With every step, the scenery changes; ancient trees are lush, providing shade from the sun, and one is enveloped in the embrace of mountains, water, and flora.
🛏️Rooms: The rooms are spacious and bright, with balcony rooms offering close-up views of the tranquil and elegant mountain scenery.
🍽️Cuisine: The villa enjoys the natural bounty of the forest, surrounded by negative ions, with spring water as its source, offering healthy and delicious food. Crispy chicken, Dongpo pork, mountain water tofu, and oil-salt spring water fish are all popular signature dishes here. The Taoran Pavilion is built by the water, with swans leisurely swimming outside the window, and the fragrance of birds and flowers, creating a refreshing and pleasant atmosphere.
🥢Breakfast: Located on the second floor at the Starlight Bar, it's simple and casual, with an outdoor terrace where the morning dew and greenery create a refreshing start to the day.
📌tips: Report your license plate to the hotel in advance for direct access to the mountain.
A hidden treasure in the city, why not steal a day of leisure in the mountains and experience a journey through the culture of modern Lingnan architecture.
